The America’s Got Talent stage is a real place where magic happens. Solange Kardinaly, a quick-change performer, wowed everyone with her spectacular act.
In a performance set to Madonna’s “Material Girl,” Kardinaly shopped until she dropped, effortlessly transforming into a succession of strapless dresses with the wave of a wrist or a nod. Finally, and most importantly, she performed the impossible: she created money just by thinking about it. We bet everyone hopes they could do that.

Energized and wearing a baseball hat and a blue outfit, Kardinaly started her act with a plain blue pocketbook resting on some adjacent baggage. She casually waved a vibrant red scarf in the direction of the bag, and BAM! That’s crimson. She then nodded her head, and her clothes and bonnet became crimson right in front of our eyes. Unhappy with the color scheme, Kardinaly flung a glimmering golden fabric in front of herself, causing her outfit to transform into a golden hue.
As if that weren’t enough, the magician then snatched a dress labeled “for sale” from a transparent plastic bag, an incredibly bizarre effect that baffled the spectators. As if by magic, Kardinaly slipped into the garment with the flick of her wrist; as an added touch of brilliance, the sign read “sold out.”
It would be great if all shopping trips were as simple.
“That was absolutely magical,” Simon Cowell said.
She moved on to the last act after quickly creating another stunning ensemble out of three rectangles of bright pink cloth. It was really jaw-dropping, propelled by her contagious energy. As if it were stage props, a white garment framed in gold dangled above the audience. However, the magician’s new lacey white gown was shown as the garment exploded into hundreds of feathers at Kardinaly’s point.
Solange was born into a magical household. She comes from a long line of Portuguese circus performers; her father and grandparents taught her the ropes. Kardinaly, who had her broadcast debut in Portugal at the tender age of seven, is obviously very comfortable with magic. Magic tournament victories began when she was ten years old, and by the time she was a teenager, her dove routine was said to be faultless.
She wowed crowds in theaters, cabarets, and circuses around the world, but her true calling was the skill of the quick-change illusion. Arkadio José Jiménez Rodríguez, her husband, is also an illusionist, so it’s no surprise that they’ve spent years perfecting their routines. By 2023, the pair had finally achieved their goal: to set a Guinness World Record for the fastest number of outfit changes in one minute. Her dizzying 25 costume changes on the set of “Lo Show Dei Record” in Milan, Italy, were quite the spectacle.
Every step of the way, the Judges were taken aback. Her ability to change outfits quickly was deemed “beautiful” by Heidi Klum.
Sophia Vergara concurred, saying, “It was truly incredible. You look stunning, very professional.” It was fun to see. More is required.
If you add magic to your act, it becomes even more extraordinary, as Howie Mandel put it. After Howie praised her innovative magic, he finally said, “You’re the best quick-change artist we’ve seen.”
The magician was showered with praise by Cowell. During these performances, there will be obnoxious men who do nothing and a woman who executes the rapid change. It was made much sweeter by the fact that you’re all by yourself and did it for me. You just had two minutes to squeeze it in, and it was very smooth. “That was incredible,” he said.
