The two individuals collaborated on a spoof video that was given the title “Reinventing Tori” after they were ousted from the ABC dance competition series together during the second week of the competition.
Tori Spelling is going to get assistance from Anna Delvey in order to “reinvent” her image.
The odd team turned to social media to present a skit that they had created and named “Reinventing Tori.” This announcement came after the pair was ousted from Dancing with the Stars during the double elimination that took place during Week 2.
“Tori, I’ve heard you wanted to reinvent yourself,” Delvey says to Spelling in the sketch, which is a parody of the Netflix series Inventing Anna, which is based on the life of the convicted scam artist.
The ladies are seen on the video that was uploaded on September 30 sitting at a table, where they are having a very substantive conversation.
While Spelling chooses to wear a bright blue jacket with matching slacks, Delvey chooses to conceal her identity by donning a black hoodie. Both of these ladies accessorize their outfits with really large sunglasses.
Indeed! An excited Spelling voice can be heard on the tape asking, “Anna, what can I do?”
By advising that she discard her renowned name, Delvey maintains a brutally honest communication style.
One of the former cast members of Beverly Hills, 90210 asks Delvey, “Spelling?” to which Delvey responds, “No, Tori.”
As Spelling inquires about the reasons why she need to alter her first name, Delvey makes a jest by saying, “It sounds poor.”
“OK, what else?” Spelling inquires, to which Delvey responds, “Nothing,” before grinning at the camera. This is a reference to her interactions with DWTS co-host Julianne Hough after she was eliminated from the competition, which have since gone viral. In response to the question of what she would take away from her time spent on the program, she responded with a single word: “Nothing.”
Spelling included Delvey on the most recent episode of her MisSpelling podcast, which was released on September 28. This was in addition to the sketch that she had previously performed.
During the 33rd season of Dancing With the Stars, the first two celebrities to be eliminated described their brief journeys on the program. Delvey was paired with Ezra Sosa, who was competing for the first dance as a professional, while Spelling was paired with Pasha Pashkov.
“I think my focus was, ‘Oh, it’s a dancing competition so it’s like, I have to perform like the steps because that’s how I’ve been trained,'” Delvey said to Spelling, including the fact that she had been schooled in ballet in a classical manner. “You have to do the steps, nobody wants to see you smile … [and] in ballet, you don’t smile.”
Delvey continued by saying that she is used to “always being on guard” and that she does not often display her feelings.
The choice to put Delvey on Dancing With the Stars has been met with a significant amount of criticism. Delvey, whose true name is Anna Sorokin, has been the focus of several headlines due to her previous legal issues. It is well known that Delvey pretended to be a German heiress in order to conduct fraud against a number of corporations and rich people. Her conviction for grand larceny eventually resulted in her overstaying her visa to enter the United States while she was doing time in jail.
Due to the fact that she was had to get clearance from ICE in order to participate on the series, she wore an ankle monitor, which was particularly impressive during her dance performance in Week One to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.”
Delvey also discussed her reserved approach on the program, stating that she “had to be on the defensive, especially after all the backlash that I received being cast on the show.” These remarks were made in response to the criticism that she received for getting cast on the show.
Despite this, she did give praise to the producers for their efforts to defend her and her participation on the program. As a result, this continued until the very first live broadcast, during which Carrie Ann Inaba acknowledged the cold reception that Delvey’s performance in the ballroom received and pleaded with the crowd and viewers to give her a chance.
“I think everyone on the cast was generally very nice to me,” Delvey made the observation. “But in the end, I don’t know.”
After witnessing the response that people had on the internet to her initial performance, Delvey stated that she was unhappy in an email interview with NBC News that was released the previous week. The news media had been informed by her boyfriend that he discovered her sobbing in the restroom.
She told NBC News, “I hadn’t been on social media in over seven years,” before noting, “I felt good after my first dance but was not prepared for the hatred directed at me online and just how mean-spirited people can be hiding behind their keyboards.” She felt good after her first dance, but she was not prepared for the vitriol that was hurled at her online.
At the end of the day, she had the impression that the performance was a “waste of time,” and she said that she considered the whole experience to be “a bit upsetting.”
After that, Delvey made the following observation: “I never had big hopes for myself for the show… According to my own personal experience, it has been more of a terrible experience than it has been a great one.
It was in that email interview with NBC News that she discussed this topic in further detail. In the interview, she expressed her belief that she was not “given a fair chance” by either the fans or the judges.
“I feel that the show so obviously used me to drive up the ratings, that they never had any plans to give me any chance to grow and only cared about exploiting me for attention,” Delvey stated in response. “It was predatory of them to try [to] make me feel inadequate and stupid all while I did get progressively better yet they chose to disregard that.”
“It felt like I was never really given a fair chance by the viewers or some of the judges’ given their nonsensical scoring,” Delvey said in her statement. “It’s supposed to be a dance competition and not a popularity contest.”
When it comes to the future, Delvey is still making an effort to look forward. Even in the event that Dancing With the Stars did not provide her with the new beginning she desired.
