A pit bull that belonged to the child’s family attacked and killed a little girl in California who was just four years old.
On Wednesday, September 4, shortly after 8 o’clock local time, officers from the Visalia Police Department were sent to a residence located in the 2300 block of West Monte Vista. The reason for their arrival was due to complaints that a dog had bitten a kid, as stated in a news statement issued by the police department and uploaded on Facebook.
She was given the name “Princess Zoey,” according to a GoFundMe page that was established in order to assist in the process of raising money for the family. Zoey Hawkins is said to be the entire name of the little child, as stated by the local news organization KMPH Fox 26.
It was verified by the police that the youngster “had just finished swimming and was inside the home when the incident occurred,” as stated in the announcement.
“Despite immediate medical attention and being transported to the hospital, she sadly passed away from her injuries,” the announcement proceeded to state.
The police subsequently informed the public that “an investigation by Violent Crimes Detectives revealed no signs of neglect or criminal wrongdoing.”
