For the first time ever, Christopher Reeve’s true-life account of adversity and victory will be brought to the big screen.
DC Studios has published the first trailer for the new documentary titled Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, which was shown for the first time at the Sundance Film Festival in January. The teaser was released on Monday, August 26.
After becoming paralyzed in 1995 as a result of an accident involving horses, the late actor and his family have shown unshakable support for him throughout the film, which is an emotional journey. In 2004, the celebrity passed away at the age of 52.
“We said goodbye, he gave this wave,” Reeve’s son Matthew recounts in a scene that was previously published from the film. Matthew is remembering the last conversation he had with his father before the disaster. “That was the last time I saw him on his feet.”
Intimate interviews with Reeve’s three children, Matthew, Alexandra, and Will, as well as his late wife, Dana, who passed away in 2006 from lung cancer, are included in the documentary Super/Man. In addition to that, it includes recollections from Reeve’s close friends, such as Whoopi Goldberg, Susan Sarandon, Jeff Daniels, and Glenn Close.

During the Sundance Film Festival, the children of Reeve were present at the Super/Man screening that took place at the Ray Theatre in Park City, Utah. Their interviews in the movie are honest and emotional, and they discuss the life of their family, which was formerly headed by their courageous father and their mother, who was a caretaker.
Matthew, who is 44 years old, explained why he believed it was the appropriate moment to produce the video during a question and answer session that took place following the showing. “This year, in October, will be the 20th anniversary of dad’s passing,” he stated.
He went on to note that he and his siblings had been contacted with “a few inquiries” over the years, but he thought that it was the proper decision to entrust the tale of his family to this particular team, which included directors Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui.
Matthew continued by saying, “Everything came together in a very natural way.”

PEOPLE published an exclusive interview with Jane Seymour in March, during which she discussed Reeve, who was not only her close friend but also a co-star in the film Somewhere in Time, which was released in 1980.
He was just an incredible human being. He was very intelligent, he had no fear, and he cherished his time spent by himself. The actress, who is 73 years old, revealed that he enjoyed riding horses, sailing yachts, and flying aircraft.
In addition, Seymour expressed her admiration for Reeve’s advocacy and said that she is “excited about the public” getting to know him via the documentary.
“He used every ounce of his might, every ounce of his intelligence, and every ounce of his visibility to really turn the dial and get the stem-cell thing moving when nobody else wanted to do that. “At this point, it’s completely normal,” she said.
There will be a “Encore Presentation” on September 25, which is Christopher Reeve’s birthday, and Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story will be released in select cinemas on September 21.
