After sustaining the injury during exercising, according to Facebook’s head honcho, he just had surgery, which was a success.
Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that he has sustained a life-threatening injury that will force him to cancel his participation in an upcoming mixed martial arts battle.
After breaking his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) while practicing for an impending mixed martial arts match scheduled for the beginning of 2024, the head honcho at Facebook shared the news on Instagram on Friday that he had successfully had surgery. The 39-year-old Zuckerberg uploaded a number of images that showed him on his hospital bed with the knee that had been fixed. Another collection of images revealed that his wife, Priscilla Chen, was also there to care after him.
He said in the caption that he had “just got out of surgery to replace it” after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) while competing. “I’m thankful to the physicians and the rest of the team who are taking care of me. My original plan was to compete in a mixed martial arts (MMA) battle early in the new year, but that has been pushed back a little bit. I am still looking forward to completing it after I have recovered from this. We would want to thank everyone for their continued love and support.
There is no information available at this time on who Zuck had intended to do battle with inside the cage the following year, but the injury is a significant setback. If he gets into a fight in 2019, it will be the first time he has competed in MMA. A widely anticipated battle between Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, another prominent CEO in the technology industry, was called off more than two months before Zuckerberg was injured.

Back in August, Zuckerberg said on Threads, and then later on his Instagram Story, that he was ready to “move on” from discussions around the pair’s planned face-off in Italy, and he criticized the SpaceX head for not being serious about going in the ring. The face-off was scheduled to take place in Italy.
“I believe that everyone can agree that Elon isn’t serious, and it’s time for us to move on. I proposed going on a proper date. “Dana White offered to make this a legitimate competition for charity,” Zuckerberg wrote, referring to the role that Dana White played in converting the fight into a charity event. White is the president of the UFC.
The chief executive officer of Meta asserts that Elon Musk is not only not serious about the battle, but he also refuses to set a date and is now apparently in need of surgery before taking on Mark Zuckerberg.
Considering that Zuckerberg was apparently practicing with some of the sport’s most talented competitors, including the current ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion, Mikey Musumeci, calling off the bout was certainly excellent news for Musk.
