In the episode of “Welcome to Wrexham” on Hulu, the star of “Deadpool” and his partner, Rob McElhenney, were informed of the unfortunate development.

They claim that the only way to earn money is to spend money. However, in order to win some, you have to lose some, and Ryan Reynolds has discovered that losing makes him feel sick to his stomach.

It is revealed in the first episode of the second season of the Hulu series Welcome to Wrexham that co-owners Reynolds and Rob McElhenney of the Wrexham AFC in the English Football League have been notified that the club has lost “loads” of money since the two individuals assumed possession of the Welsh squad in 2021.

Humphrey Ker, the executive director of the club, is the one who breaks the unfortunate news to the club’s co-owners at a meeting. Reynolds makes it apparent that he would like a number when he tells Ker, “Quantify loads for us.” At first, Ker just responds that they have lost “loads” of money, but Reynolds makes it plain that he would want a figure.

Wrexham’s Advisor to the Board, Shaun Harvey, reveals that the company has suffered a loss of around ten million pounds, which is equivalent to almost twelve million dollars. The show was broadcast for the first time in the middle of September, but the statistic is only now starting to make news since People published an article about it lately.

What was Reynolds’ response when he heard the total? In the episode, he can be heard saying, “I’m going to throw up.”

However, Reynolds and McElhenney have nothing to be concerned about. If they are ready to invest even more of their own hard-earned money into the club, there is a glimmer of hope that things may turn around. According to Harvey, the club’s adviser, “the value that’s coming from the global appeal we’ve been able to create is going to offset those additional costs that we’ve created.” This statement was made in reference to the club’s ability to create value.

In addition, Harvey said, as reported by People, that “the biggest thing that’s going to change on promotion… people can see the value of Welcome to Wrexham.”

Harvey followed by saying that “then,” if all goes according to plan, “that’s when the additional sponsorship revenue can be generated.”

Pepto-Bismol in the meanwhile, I suppose?

The second season chronicles several dramatic turning points for the club, including Wrexham AFC winning their first league championship in over half a century. Following the victory, the team was promoted to League Two, the fourth and final division of the English Football League. The objective, and I don’t want to be cryptic here, is for the squad to continue its ascent through the leagues, starting with League One (the third tier), then the Championship League (the second tier), and finally the English Premiere League (the top tier), which is considered the mecca of leagues.

After “the King of England called” and paid a visit to the squad together with Queen Camilla in December of last year, the club will also welcome royalty in season 2 as a result of this.

During their visit, photographs were taken of Reynolds and McElhenney shaking hands with members of the royal family and even laughing out loud at something uttered by the monarch.

Later on that day, Charles acknowledged the significance of the soccer club and delivered a speech in which he thanked all who had come to visit.

“I had the opportunity to see one of the other wonders of Wrexham, namely the football club, which is busy putting Wrexham on the map as never before,” the monarch told reporters. “And, of course, this comes after the Welsh national team has brought unprecedented international recognition to Wales through qualifying for the World Cup.”
