According to the announcement made by the franchise, former Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins has passed away. He had reached the age of 28.
It is not known what caused his loss.
Collins, who excelled throughout his time in college at Arkansas, was a member of the Ravens in both 2017 and 2018. He was a member of the NFL for five seasons.
Collins rushed for a total of 326 yards while playing for Baltimore and scored 13 touchdowns throughout those two seasons. He would do an Irish dance in the end zone as a celebratory move after scoring touchdowns.

John Harbaugh, the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, was quoted as saying in a statement that Alex was “someone whose light shined brightly” and that being around him was “a joy.” “I’ll never forget him since he was such a wonderful colleague who had an inspiring personality that had an effect on everyone he came in contact with. He was not just an intelligent player but also one who ran with boundless desire, and he was a big reason for a lot of the success that we had while he was in Baltimore. Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with Alex’s family at this difficult time. May he find everlasting peace in the presence of God today.

In 2019, he was let go by the Ravens shortly after he was taken into custody after a vehicle accident in Owings Mills, which occurred around one mile away from the team’s training facility. According to the police report, authorities smelled marijuana in his vehicle, and upon further investigation, officers discovered a big glass jar containing five ounces of marijuana. Additionally, a firearm was discovered in his possession.
A formal complaint was filed against him for possession with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana in excess of 10 grams, and possession of a weapon in the car. All three charges were brought against him.
Collins said that he was unaware of its ownership and instead claimed that it belonged to his buddy Tykheem “TJ” Dunaway, who had been in the vehicle earlier but had decided to walk home rather than wait for the tow with Collins. After some time had passed, Dunaway reappeared on the scene.
His most recent team was the Memphis Showboats of the United States Football League.
In his last season in the NFL (2021), Collins played for Seattle and finished with 4211 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
