Cillian Murphy is working toward the goal of turning “Barbenhemier” into a movie!

Would you want me to assume the role of Ken in Barbie 2? Sure,” the 47-year-old actor who plays Oppenheimer said in a recent interview with Cinéfilos while laughing. “Let’s read the script, and then let’s have a conversation.”

Adding, “I can’t wait to see it,” he said in reference to Barbie. “I really cannot wait to see the movie. I believe that would work very well in the movies. This summer is going to be packed with some very amazing movies, if you didn’t already know that.

The term “Barbenheimer” was created by the internet in anticipation of the July 21 release dates of the films Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, and Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan.

Allison Jones, the casting director for the movie Barbie, recently revealed to Vanity Fair that potential cast members Bowen Yang, Dan Levy, and Ben Platt were all considered for the role of Ken in the film that broke box office records.

“They were, I’m not kidding, really bummed they couldn’t do it,” Jones said, adding that the movie’s three-month onsite shooting location in London made it difficult for the three actors to participate. “They were, I’m not kidding, really bummed they couldn’t do it,” Jones added.

The actress who portrays Barbie, Margot Robbie, dropped hints about a potential sequel and didn’t rule out the possibility of a return to Barbie Land around a month ago.

During an interview with TIME magazine, the 32-year-old actress was questioned on the possibility of a subsequent version of the movie.

She also acknowledged that there have been negotiations about what the future holds for Barbie in terms of a cinematic experience to follow the movie. “I think you fall into a bit of a trap if you try and set up a first movie while also planning for sequels,” Robbie remarked, but she also revealed that there have been discussions about what the future holds for Barbie.

“It could go a million different directions from this point,” she said.

According to Variety, “Barbie: The Movie” made history over the weekend by breaking the record for the greatest opening weekend for a film directed by a female filmmaker with its initial run of $155 million.

While all was going on, Oppenheimer opened in cinemas and grossed an astonishing $80.5 million in its first three days.

Murphy recently told IGN that he believes it is fantastic for both the cinema business and spectators since two incredible movies directed by incredible directors would be released on the same day. “I think it’s just great for the industry and for audiences,” Murphy said. You might easily spend the whole day in the movie theater. What could possibly be better than that?
