Bobby Lee attributes at least some of his decision to quit drinking and drug use to the experience he had with And Just Like That. The comedian shared his story of how he realized he needed to become clean and sober while working on the Max series opposite Sarah Jessica Parker with Rachel Bilson on her podcast, Broad Ideas. He credited Parker for helping him come to this realization.
“When I was using, and this is the most horrifying thing that has ever happened to me, I was in Hawaii, and I was blackout drunk, and my agent calls and says, ‘They need you in New York.'” Jackie Nee, portrayed by Lee in the episode, shared her thoughts.
Because of the alteration to the shooting schedule, Lee had no choice but to immediately board an aircraft and go to New York.
“As a result, I board an aircraft and go to New York. I took around 600 milligrams of THC, and it made my face look like s**t,” he claimed. When I arrived in New York, I found myself in the midst of a power outage.

When Lee found out that his chauffeur wouldn’t be driving him to the hotel but would instead be going directly to the set of AJLT, the actor’s “face just became drenched with sweat.”
“I remember going there, being so high and drunk, and when I was reading the script, I couldn’t even understand what the f**k it was even saying,” he added. “I couldn’t even understand what the f**k it was even saying.” “And in addition to that, it was the most challenging scenario. It’s right in the midst of New York City, and I had to cross the street with Parker.”
That particular day of filming was described as “a nightmare” since Lee “couldn’t even say the f**king first line.”
“I clearly recall telling myself, ‘This is something that would never happen to me again. I have to become sober. “This is insane,” he said, before going on to say that the incident “could have been the end of his career” for him.
