Dolly Parton will not be retiring from performing any time in the near future. In point of fact, the country diva, who is 77 years old, has said that when it comes to retiring, she would rather “drop d.e.a.d.” onstage than prepare her last curtain call.
The singer known as Jolene discussed her sentiments towards retiring on the Greatest Hits Radio program. She told presenter Ken Bruce that there is a responsibility that comes along with accomplishing one’s greatest aspirations.
“I always believe that if you’ve wanted your dreams to come true and you are lucky enough to have that happen, then you’ve always got to be responsible because you gotta keep the dream alive,” she stated. “I always believed that if you’ve wanted your dreams to come true and you are lucky enough to have that happen.” “And it seems that each dream gives rise to another dream of its own. You can construct a company out of almost everything that takes place and branch out from it. It’s sort of like a tree that has strong roots; it has a lot of branches, and it also has a lot of leaves. Why not make the best of the situation that you’re in? And I’m not the kind to just lounge about doing nothing.”
Now for the crucial part:
“I have no plans to ever retire. “I’ll just hope that I pass out somewhere in the middle of a song while I’m performing onstage someday,” she remarked. “I’m hoping things will turn out like that. Naturally, we don’t have much of a say in the matter at all. However, provided that I am able to continue working, that I am in excellent health, and that my spouse is also in good condition. I mean, the only time I would ever slow down or stop would be because of that reason; it’s the only one. But in the meanwhile, I’m going to try to earn some money while the sun is still shining.

She told ET when she was on the red carpet that she was anxious about releasing her song “World on Fire,” which was released in May at the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards. “World on Fire” is the first single to be taken from her next album Rockstar, which is scheduled to be released on November 17.
“Well, I must say that I’m elated. She described herself as “a little bit nervous but in a good way.” It’s almost as if I’m debuting my whole rock album tonight, and this is the first song from that project; nevertheless, the message is positive. I really believe that every single person on the face of the earth should listen to this. As a result, I can’t hide my enthusiasm.
Rockstar includes nine tracks that were originally recorded and 21 versions of great songs. Legendary artists such as Miley Cyrus, Elton John, Sting, Stevie Nicks, Lizzo, Chris Stapleton, and Paul McCartney are among those who make guest appearances.
During her talk with Bruce, the diva from “9 to 5” divulged her aspirations for her career going forward.
“Every day, I have fresh and exciting dreams. She spoke these words, “I wanna have my own network TV show, where I can actually do a lot of new things and produce.” “I want to write my own narrative and title it Life of Many Colors. In it, I want to include a whole series about my life. Stuff that people haven’t seen or know or heard about, as well as my folks, where I came from, where I got to be, and who I am; to have the behind-the-scenes and the experiences of my life.”
She went on to state that she would want to be able to sell her own brand of clothing, wigs, and cosmetics. She also said that she was grateful for the many possibilities that came her way as a result of her celebrity.
She said that “once you get to a certain place in your career, you get a lot of offers,” which is another way of stating the same thing. “And it’s not easy to say no to some of them,” the speaker said.
