A dog called Leroy, who was stuck in a cement hole in Fresno, California, raised his head as far as he could in the air, hoping for someone who may be able to assist him.

Soon after, Leroy found himself staring into the eyes of a photographer who was working in the deserted lot next to the trench. Because the photographer was worried about the welfare of the dog, he got in touch with animal control.

Animal control officers rushed to the situation, lowered themselves down into the pit, and pulled Leroy to safety as swiftly as they could. In spite of the suffering he was going through, the sweet dog never lost his composure and was overjoyed to have somebody looking out for him.

The kind dog Leroy was taken in by the rescue organization Compassion Without Borders, where the staff members were taken aback by the canine’s unflappable good nature.

“He was very sweet from the moment that he was rescued,” Christi Camblor, executive director and creator of Compassion Without Borders, told The Dodo.

Soon after, Camblor, who is a licensed veterinarian, started providing Leroy with a home and attending to his medical requirements. Camblor and her husband both had an increasing sense of intuition that the three of them were destined to be together as the days went by.

“It was love at first sight!” said one person. Camblor stated. “I had a feeling that there was no way that we could part ways with him.”

After taking care of Leroy for about a month, the Camblor family made the decision to adopt him formally. Today, Leroy is happy as can be since he lives with his mother and father, takes part in entertaining photoshoots, and engages in a wide variety of other interesting pursuits.

“He is silly, playful, loving, and very engaging,” Camblor said about him. “He is very funny.” The phrase “playing with toys, playing with his dog brothers and sisters, napping, and hanging out in the backyard sunbathing” perfectly describes his favorite activities.
