It has been decided that Brandon Jones and Serene Russell will not forward with their engagement. On Monday, the former contestants of The Bachelor in Paradise made the announcement on Instagram that they had broken off their engagement, which had been shown on the season 8 finale of the program over six months earlier.

The exes stated in a joint post that “after many months, today we have ultimately decided to end our engagement.” The post contained pictures and videos from Brandon and Serene’s time together.

“We have tried to work privately on our relationship, which has been incredibly challenging given the public eye,” they said in their letter to one other. “Because there is so much love that exists between the two of us, it has been incredibly challenging to accept this and it has caused a lot of pain.”

The last line of the message said, “We are deeply hurting, and all we can ask is that there be no hate.” “At this point, the most beneficial thing for us to do is to concentrate on getting over it on our own and moving on with our lives.”

Since the first episode of the season, Brandon and Serene have been one of the most popular couples among the audience. During an interview with ET that took place following the broadcast of their engagement, Serene referred to the love that she and Brandon have as “life-changing.”

“Your love is so much more than the love I had dreamed of all those years,” Serene said to her then-fiancé, who reacted in like by saying, “I love you in every meaning of the word… My happily ever after couldn’t have begun until I began a life with you; before that, it was impossible.
