To celebrate his mother’s birthday on March 2, 2023, Chuck Norris sent Wilma Norris Knight a link to an essay that he had written just for her and dedicated to her. A photo from the actor’s childhood was posted on Facebook, showing him being warmly greeted by his mother as he sat next to her in the family home.

The celebrity said that he couldn’t believe his mother was growing older that week, which occurred on May 4, 2023. His mother was born in 1921, making her current age that week. He thought the most remarkable thing about her was how full of life she was, saying that it was possible for her to live another hundred years!

Chuck disclosed that his mother’s birthday would occur one week before to Mother’s Day. He also admitted to being “overwhelmed with gratitude to God” for the impact of three women in his life, stating that he wouldn’t be the man he was today without them. Chuck’s mother’s birthday would fall the week before Mother’s Day. In the piece that he penned on May 1, 2023, he addressed his mother by name and stated the following:

“Happy birthday to my mother, who is 102 years young!”

The celebrity claimed that he did not know which of the two things—having a mother who was 102 years old or that she had a kid who was 83—was the hardest to believe, but that he was and would always be “so grateful” that Wilma was his “mom.” Wilma’s son was 83 years old when he was born.

He also mentioned the fact that they had “been through thick and thin” together and were still making progress in their relationship. Chuck expressed his affection for his mother, who had made many selfless contributions for the sake of her children.

In May of 2012, Wilma made an appearance on “The Mike Huckabee Show,” during which she discussed her life in an open and honest manner. She referred to Chuck as her “defender,” his brother Aaron as her “sunshine,” and Wieland, the last Norris kid to lose his life in Vietnam, as her “hero.”

The actor’s mother disclosed the fact that she would refer to her son by his real name, Carlos, rather than by his stage name, Chuck. Wilma explained the reason why she named him her protector by stating that when they were destitute, the star assumed the position of the man of the home since his father had abandoned them. Wilma’s explanation was that when they were poor, the star took the role of the man of the house.

While Chuck’s mother was working nights, he was responsible for watching for his younger brothers. Even at the young age of roughly 14 years old, the celebrity sat down with his mother and spoke about what bills needed to be paid when they arrived.

Wilma said, when they were talking about Aaron, that the family was so impoverished at the time that he came along that she did not know what she would feed him. In spite of the difficulties, the boy’s family was overjoyed to welcome him into the world since his arrival brought “sunshine” into their life. Meanwhile, Wieland, also known as “mama’s boy,” was the “happy-go-lucky” one who liked everyone. He was also the most outgoing.

Wilma thought that her children’s father had some kind of transformation as a result of his participation in World War II. This was her explanation for why her first husband abandoned the family.

When Chuck and Wieland were 14 and 12 years old, respectively, things were so difficult for the family that they requested that their mother not remain with their father for them. The guys said that they were at their breaking point since he was an alcoholic and a bully toward them both.

The Norris brothers all turned up to be decent human beings, despite the fact that they came from a troubled family. Wilma attributed their success to the fact that she regularly prayed with them, took them to church, and taught Sunday school.

Chuck was born in 1940 and raised in Ryan, Oklahoma. He has Cherokee and Irish ancestry and grew up with a father whose alcoholism caused him to present two different faces at any one moment. Chuck’s mother was of German descent. Chuck’s concept of what it means to be a man and a parent was influenced by watching old Western movies starring men like John Wayne, Roy Rogers, and Hopalong Cassidy.

His parents finally split, which left the family in a terrible financial situation. By the time he was 15 years old, he and his family had relocated 16 times into residences with cheap rentals. Wilma relied on government assistance and worked hard to provide for her children.

The mother of three finally relocated to California with her children, and it was in the Golden State that her eldest adopted the moniker by which he is known today. Chuck’s mother had an important and beneficial influence on his life, as did the religious tradition in which he was nurtured.

Wilma said in her interview with Mike Huckabee how she attends church with her three children and prays with them as part of her efforts to raise them in a morally upright manner. She emphasized the need of having a spiritual life in relation to the upbringing of her sons.

In addition, the mother of three encouraged new moms to provide a healthy upbringing for their children by showing them love and bringing them to church as well as Sunday school. She underlined that God did not give parents their children, but rather leased them to them “for a while.”

Chuck recently said that his mother continued to adore Jesus “with all of her heart and soul” and that she never stopped believing in him. The actor was anxious to find out what it meant when Wilma would tell her son that God had plans for him, as Wilma would tell him that.

The celebrity, who was a devout churchgoer throughout his childhood, made the decision to put his faith in Jesus Christ as a young boy. However, when he was a younger man, he was motivated to become a Christian by the Billy Graham Crusade, and it wasn’t until his wife Gena went into pre-term labor that he had a religious awakening. When Gena had serious and potentially fatal medical issues, she was carrying their twin daughters Dakota and Danilee in her womb at the time.

Chuck has said that his mother had a spiritual influence on him and that throughout his youth, she instilled in him a sense of duty that he carried with him into adulthood.

In March of 2023, Chuck said that his mother had always served as an inspiration to him in terms of having faith and persevering through difficult times. During the Great Depression, he and his siblings were raised by mom on their own, and he gave her credit for doing so. Wilma also miraculously overcame the losses of two spouses, a stepson, Wieland, and grandkids, in addition to enduring a number of surgical procedures. He added:

“She has prayed for me throughout the entirety of my life, through good times and bad.”

When Chuck was on the verge of losing his “soul to Hollywood,” his mother never stopped praying for his redemption and continued prosperity, Chuck remembered. He expressed his gratitude to her for praying to God on his behalf to mold him into the best possible version of himself.

Chuck said that Wilma’s prayers helped him not only locate a Christian wife but also save his soul. It was a difficult time for him since his first wife of 30 years, Dianne Holechek filed for divorce, and their boys’ relationship with their father grew tense as a result.

A young lady by the name of Deena had sent a letter to the actor, claiming to be his daughter and disclosing that he had cheated on Holechek when he was serving in the military in another nation. At this point in time, Deena and her family are an essential component of the celebrity’s everyday existence.

Chuck has said that his mother had a spiritual influence on him and that throughout his youth, she instilled in him a sense of duty that he carried with him into adulthood. He is aware of the intentions that God has for him at this point, and along with Gena, he has become an advocate of conservative Christian principles in both public schools and politics.

Chuck established the Kickstart Kids program in 1990. It is a non-profit martial arts and character development program that teaches children skills in responsibility, character development, and the ability to resist inadequate peer pressure via the practice of karate. Chuck launched the program in 1990. As of the year 2016, more than 70,000 people have successfully completed the program.

In the end, Chuck is of the opinion that a praying mother might reach other nations and bring children who have turned away from God back to him.
