In the neighborhood of Melbourne, Australia, Con Keramidas is used to seeing two cats just across the street from his home. These cats are his neighbors, and each one of them has their own family and a warm and welcoming home. Outdoors is where these two friends enjoy hanging out the most, and one day, they brought Con a charming gift when they went to see him at his apartment.
Con made the decision to cook one of his all-time favorite meals, which was squid prepared with salt and pepper on a Sunday afternoon. When all of a sudden, his son saw that there was someone at the door, the cook had just begun sautéing the squid.
Con shared the following story with The Dodo: “My kid screamed out to me to check out the cats hanging outside of the front entrance.” “And sure enough, all of them were leaning against the screen and gazing at us,” the speaker said.
Con immediately recognized two of the cats as having been his long-time neighbors; nevertheless, there were also several unfamiliar faces within the group. Four kittens were found sitting between the two adult cats; however, only two of the kittens belonged to either of the adult cats.
Con said that they must have gone in the direction that their nose led them. “That turned out to be a pretty amusing surprise in the end.”
During the time that Con was preparing his meal, the aroma of it spread across his area, and it immediately attracted the neighboring cats and their young.
The little children and their parents looked through the crack in his front door, hoping to get a glimpse of the feast that was being prepared inside, but Kermidas knew that it would be unsafe to share the food since it had already been seasoned. Instead, he lavished the kitties with affection and carried on with the rest of his evening as normal.
The cats gradually made their way back to their house five hours after they had first been there.
Con said that the visitors remained till nine o’clock at night. They were given the nickname “the Squid Crew.”
After that particular day, Con was not the recipient of any other visits from the Squid Crew. When some time had passed, the four young cats reached an age where they could be adopted, leaving just the two adult female cats in the neighborhood. They have not been seen going back to Con’s location as of yet.
Con is looking forward to the next time the cats’ noses bring them to his doorway, despite the fact that he hasn’t seen them in quite some time already. For the time being, he’ll keep an eye out for guests whenever he cooks anything appetizing on the grill.
