On the first red carpet Jeremy Renner has walked since his near-fatal snowplow accident, he is greeted by an outpouring of solidarity from friends and family.
At the Los Angeles premiere of his Disney+ reality series Rennervations, which took place on Tuesday at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles, the Avengers actor, who is 52 years old, attended the event with his right hand holding onto a cane and his left hand grasping the hand of his daughter, Ava Berlin Renner, who is 10 years old.
Both of them were beaming with happiness.
When Renner made his way down the red carpet, he was accompanied by his family and seemed to be in a cheerful mood.
After surviving the accident that took place on his farm north of Reno, Nevada on January 1, Renner had more than 30 bones broken and required many operations. After being run over by his snowplow, which was estimated to weigh at least 14,330 pounds, he was first reported to be in “serious but stable condition.”
He made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night, during which he performed a little dance while walking onstage with the assistance of a cane. Kimmel, who is 55 years old, kidded with Renner, saying, “That’s decided now. You’re the hardest Avenger there ever was.”
Along with prominent friends like Vanessa Hudgens, Anthony Mackie, Anil Kapoor, and Sebastián Yatra, the actor participates in the project Rennervations, which repurposes decommissioned cars for new uses in order to raise money for charitable organizations. In addition to that, Renner’s closest buddy Rory Millikin will have a part to play.
Millikin recently spoke to PEOPLE about Renner’s attitude while he recovers from the accident, telling the publication that the actor “carries this weight extremely valiantly” and that Renner’s “mood is motivating.”
“He is a guy with a great deal of zeal. His disposition is really upbeat. It is bolstered by one’s family and friends, all of whom have been amazing, “added Millikin. “You hear this, and even if it sounds corny, thanks for all the love from fans, but in all honesty, it had a significant influence on him. He was going through all of them, and he had really spent the time reading quite a few of these things, which provided him with a great deal of strength.”
In his first interview since the tragedy, which aired on Thursday and is now available to watch on Hulu, Renner told Diane Sawyer of ABC News that he has “shifted the narrative of being victimized or making a mistake or anything else.” This was Renner’s first interview since the accident. He used the following phrase: “I refuse to be f—-ing plagued by that memory that way.”
