The exciting news is in: Dee Wallace is going to be a grandmother!
In the iconic film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial from 1982, the actress portrayed Drew Barrymore’s mother. In a moment that her daughter Gabrielle Stone posted on TikTok on Wednesday, the E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial actress learned that she is expecting her first grandchild.
The title at the beginning of the video says, “See me inform America’s mom that she’s going to be a grandma…” (Watch as I tell America’s mom that she will be a grandmother).
Stone, 34, approaches Wallace while she has a bread bun and says, “Do you want to put it back in the oven?”

Wallace responds in a bewildered manner, “Not very.”
The question that Wallace poses to his mother is, “Alright, but if you did, what would it be, Mom?”
Wallace, after pausing for a moment of reflection, responds, “That would be a bun in the oven.”
“Yeah…” Stone responds and watches as it sinks in, at which point Wallace throws the bread on the floor and erupts into what Stone refers to as “overjoyed shouts.” Stone also observes as it sinks in.

When the mother and daughter embrace one another, Wallace spins around and exclaims, “Oh my God, she’s pregnant!”
In the spring of 2016, Wallace made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the film. During his appearance, Wallace recalled Drew Barrymore’s connection to E.T., which culminated in a sobbing response when she saw the character on his d.e.a.t.h.b.e.d.
“Being the mother that I am with every one of the children that I am responsible for… I walked up to Drew and told him, “Alright, now we’re going to go film the moment where E.T. is dying, but you know he’s not dying dear.” We then proceeded to shoot the sequence. He is behaving in the same way that we are, all right?’ “— I quote her.
“Then you glanced at me before saying, “I know, Dee. Do you believe that I am an idiot?'”
“So, I drove to where you were working and picked you up there. After taking one glance at E.T., you burst into tears and said, “Oh, he’s dying, Dee!” “He’s fading away,” Wallace chuckled as he reflected on the memory.
