Nobody understands this better than Jamie Lee Curtis, who has occasionally admitted to disliking her spouse even though he is her “one and only.” Marriage is not an easy commitment, and nobody knows this better than Jamie Lee Curtis. The couple has kept their long-lasting connection a secret, which includes at least one phrase that is just three syllables long. They have done this for the last few decades while living in the same home.

Jamie Lee Curtis has struggled with the idea of love from the beginning of her life. She is the product of 13 divorces that occurred within her immediate family, and as a result, she battled with the concept of love despite everything that she had seen.

Curtis would constantly question what happened to love, and she had to learn to live with the knowledge that she was created out of good emotions like love rather than bad emotions like hatred and jealousy. She was born out of love.

But, despite her reservations about love, Curtis was unable to escape its clutches even when she tried. She was reading a copy of Rolling Stone when she first laid eyes on Christopher Guest, the man she would later fall in love with and marry. At the time, Guest was featured in the article to promote his film “Spinal Tap.”

Curtis turned to her companion and said, “I’m going to marry that guy” right then and then after being attracted by him when he was wearing a plaid shirt and had a grin on his face.

Curtis saw something special in Guest, but the two of them struggled to get their relationship off the ground at first. Curtis attempted to get in touch with the Guest after she had her eyes set on him by calling his agency and leaving a note for him if he was interested; however, he did not answer her call.

They bumped into one other not long after that at a restaurant, where Guest gestured to her as if he knew her as the lady who had attempted to call him, and she waved back to him in response. The next day, the Guest called her back, and on July 2nd, they finally went out on their first date.

Even though Curtis and Guest had virtually little in common with one another, their relationship flourished, proving the adage that “opposites attract.” The brilliant lady once discussed how they were different from one another. She said:

“My spouse, the actor, musician, and playwright Christopher Guest, who is 70 years old, and I couldn’t be more different from one another. Over the last 33 years, and for the foreseeable future as well, we have been.”

Curtis believes that he has a high level of intelligence, but she came from a family that did not place a high value on education. She claims that these differences do not have a detrimental impact on their marriage, although they listen to separate radio stations, read different newspapers, and have distinct sleeping patterns.

Before Guest accepted Curtis’ marriage proposal, the couple enjoyed a whirlwind engagement that lasted around five months. On that dreadful day, Guest had been in New York, where he was going to stay for the next twelve months, and he had phoned Curtis to ask her a simple question that ended up being the deciding factor: “Do you like diamonds?”

They went on their first date a few months after they had already been seeing each other, and they have been together ever since they tied the knot on December 18, 1984.

The guest did not put up any resistance when they first discovered the home that they wanted to rent.

Curtis and Guest have been married for nearly forty years and are still going strong, which is surprising given the disparities between them. Nonetheless, one could assume that they would not be able to stay together given their differences.

Even though they have had their share of marriage problems, none of it has altered the way that they feel for each other. This is not to suggest that they have not had their fair share of marital problems. In a previous interview, Curtis referred to Guest as her “one and only” and said that she was a “deep, serious romantic.” She also labeled Guest as her “one and only”

Curtis maintains a realistic outlook on love, but she has acknowledged how much she values the stability that comes with being in a committed relationship. She once devoted a song to her spouse in which she sang, “I feel secure when I pull up and see that you are home,” and she sang those exact words.

Curtis thinks that one of the primary factors that have contributed to the success of their marriage is persistence. According to her, anybody who has been married to a single individual for several years would, at some point, have the desire to quit the relationship, particularly when things are difficult.

When such a moment arrives, according to Curtis, the best thing to do is to continue hanging on to what you have. She made the following statement: “If you remain on the bus for a sufficient amount of time, the landscape will change.” In 2015, the brilliant actress shared an additional piece of advice that she believes has contributed to her and Guest’s ability to maintain their marriage: “Don’t get divorced.”

Curtis and her soulmate moved in together in the house they fell in love with in 1992, some years after their wedding. To this day, the couple continues to make that house their permanent residence.

Curtis and Guest were able to turn the gorgeous Spanish Colonial Revival house that is situated in Los Angeles into a home for their family so that they could raise their children there.

Until they discovered the home, Guest had always been the one who pointed out problems with the other houses that they looked at, but when they found the house that they ultimately decided to buy, Guest did not put up any resistance.

Once, while Curtis was bragging about her abilities as a homemaker, she said: “I am confident in my ability to make practically any environment gorgeous and to turn it into a place that feels like home. Almost every home that I see impresses me tremendously.”

This is a highly convincing explanation given that their house exudes a positive energy and a sense of warmth, both of which are direct results of her being there. The beautiful kitchen, which the actress refers to as the “emotional hub” of the home since it is often where the members of the family congregate, is a feature of this property.

The white cabinets, walls, and flooring in the kitchen provide an air of cleanliness and positivity in the space. The warm ambiance is helped along by the presence of a marble island, a boho rug, and antique furniture, all of which are included in the space.

In the kitchen, as is the case in many of the other rooms in the home, there is a framed print of an affirmation that can be found hanging on the wall. The one that is displayed in the kitchen is full of vibrant colors and encourages the reader to “be nice.” You may also find inspiring quotes printed on tea towels, which can also be hung on the wall as wall hangings. One might read:

“You are not alone.”

Curtis takes a lot of pleasure in her abode, and she often posts pictures of it on social media, much to the joy of her many followers and admirers. The pair have confessed that they will continue modifying their house in whichever way they see appropriate, and fans can’t wait to see what new additions will be made public in the near future.
