The Michigan couple felt as if they had seen a miracle when they learned that their cherished dog, who had been missing for four months, had been located and returned to them.

When Don and Kim Carpus were on a camping vacation with their Australian shepherd, Jinks, at Ocqueoc Falls State Forest Campsite in the month of July, they were shocked to discover that Jinks had been separated from them. Jinks had just turned three years old when he vanished from his family’s home.

Throughout their hunt for Jinks that lasted over three weeks, they went to great lengths, including staying at a campsite in Northern Michigan for the whole time in the vain hope that they would eventually find him there.

Even when she went back to her hometown of Milan, Michigan, which is located in the state of Michigan, she did not give up putting missing dog posters on Facebook and continuing her hunt for her beloved canine. They tried everything they could think of to assist their children, including running advertisements on the radio and handing out leaflets, but none of it worked…

Jinks was found stowing away in the back of an RV belonging to a married couple in Charlevoix, Michigan, more than 70 miles distant from the location where he had been lost and disappeared. It had been almost a year since he had been reported missing, and this was the first time anybody had seen him in that time.

Randy and Susan Hitts, his pastors, took one look at the tags on his collar and instantly phoned the number that was printed on one of the tags. In an interview with the Petoskey News, Randy said that he believes “the dog had probably travelled hundreds of miles through the woods before coming up beneath my RV.” According to the author, “He has a lot of good fortune that he is still living.”

Both Jinks and his parents were keeping an eye out for him, but Jinks was also keeping an eye out for his parents. It was a partnership that benefited both parties equally. According to the author, our recreational vehicle has a remarkable resemblance to the people who live in it. Susan was the one who brought up the point that “it’s reasonable why he would have felt it was the same one.” Susan made this observation.

When Jinks’ family got the phone call informing them that their child had survived the ordeal and was doing well, one would think that they would have been overjoyed. Yet, this is not what happened at all. Except for the fact that he had lost weight and was covered in burrs on his back, he seemed to be in excellent condition. The only thing that seemed to be wrong with him was that he was covered in burrs.

Jinks’ green color with ID tags managed to remain on during his journey through the forest, which resulted in a joyful reunion with his family and friends at the finish of the journey.

“He looks to be in excellent health, but he is surely in need of a groomer due to burs and hair matting,” Susan stated on Facebook when she met his parents halfway through the voyage. “He is certainly in need of a groomer due to burs and hair matting.” This is something that I consider to be a really amazing accomplishment. The witness exclaims, “Today, I had the privilege of seeing a miracle!”

Her post included a video of Jinks greeting his parents with a bear embrace after they had been apart for a number of months, and as a result, the video is now receiving significant attention all over the globe. “I missed those hugs,” his mother remarked after getting a tight embrace from the affectionate dog. “I missed those hugs,” the dog added. “I missed those embraces.” She expressed her gratitude by wiping the tears from her eyes and said, “I missed those hugs.”

He is overjoyed to be back at his house, where he will be able to spend more time with Skye, his canine sister, whom he had thought about often while he was away. After receiving a soothing warm bath, he is unable to tear himself away from his “baby,” even after the bath is over.
