Niall Harbison was in Thailand on a quest to rescue 10,000 dogs when he came across a particularly remarkable puppy that was in an immediate crisis and need immediate assistance. He was accustomed to taking care of ill and wounded pets, but this situation was different from what he had experienced before.
In a tweet, Harbison explained why she gave the character the name Hope although she clearly lacked it.
Hope was limping about Harbison’s land when he first saw her, and it was immediately apparent to him that she had been hurt. He was eager to assist in cleaning of her wounds as quickly as possible, but the puppy was terrified and would not allow anybody to go near her.
In another tweet, Harbison said, “We tried to capture her for a whole 10 days but were unable.” “A group of five individuals gave it their all, but she was just unable to overcome her fear.”
The members of Harbison’s crew dispersed themselves around the outside of his tent in order to ensure that Hope was never out of their line of sight. They were ultimately successful in capturing the dog after a series of futile efforts on their part.
Harbison wrote, “We had finally grabbed this lovely, fearful child and were able to bring her to safety.” “She is in a secure location, will get treatment at this time, and will never have to worry about being assaulted again.”
Hope was lavished with affection every day by Harbison, who also took great care to treat her wounds. Her physical wounds began to heal almost immediately, but Harbison could sense that her soul was still severely damaged.
“For what seemed like weeks, she had been staring at the wall. She [refused] to move one inch. In a subsequent tweet, Harbison described how the woman would “barely eat” and “go to the bathroom.” “I was aware that it was going to take a considerable amount of time…”
Hope’s unique personality began to emerge when the rescuer and his crew used the patience they had been trained to have with her.
According to what Harbison wrote, “She gained her confidence back with the assistance of McMuffin and several pups, as well as a great deal of patience, training, and love.” “All that was required of her was time.”
At long last, Hope’s outward appearance reflected the happiness she was experiencing on the inside. Hope enjoyed being by the sides of the people who had rescued her, whether she was interacting with the other dogs in Harbison’s care or doing circuits around the property, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. The adorable puppy was in need of a permanent new home.
One day, a lady by the name of Steff stopped by Harbison’s campsite, and she was quite excited to see all of the dogs that were under his care. She welcomed each and every puppy that she encountered, but there was one in particular that attracted her attention: Hope.
Hope knew she’d discovered the person she would spend the rest of her life with the moment Steff bent down to pat her for the first time. The once-terrified puppy leaned in close and gave Steff a sweet peck on the nose before rolling over and pleading for a massage on the tummy. Staff, who had the same initial crush as Hope, was more than happy to comply with her request.
At that very time, Steff came to the conclusion that it would be impossible for her to leave Thailand without Hope. She decided to stay in the United States for an additional two months after returning home to the United Kingdom so that she could take Hope with her.
Hope had been living on the Harbison farm for a total of four months when she decided that it was finally time for her to go. She maintained her perfect stillness while Steff put a brand-new collar and leash around her neck, and then she strutted off the premises with her new mom in a very proud manner. Harbison could tell by the look on the dog’s face that she was ecstatic at the news.
In a tweet providing an update on Hope, Harbison said, “Look at that grin.”
Since then, Hope has made the transition to her new life in the United Kingdom with ease. They are overjoyed that she has finally found the loving home that she has always desired, even if they miss having the cheerful pup frolicking around their yard. Harbison and his staff will always be glad for her.
