Hope for Paws received a phone call from a nice lady who had discovered two puppies in a park who were attempting to survive for themselves. During the time that she waited for assistance to come, she was successful in bringing the dogs onto her porch. She also checked about to see whether someone owned them, but she was unable to locate anyone who did.

Katie McKittrick arrived at the house and immediately introduced herself to the adorable children there. Both Ernie and Mulligan were quite sociable and pleased to accompany their owners to CARES, where they knew they would be showered with affection and given a much-needed wash. Katie remarked that the dogs seemed to enjoy spending time with her and were very sociable.
