In the last year, a dog by the name of Buddy has been in the news because he was the victim of a horrific burn assault that was carried out by a youngster. The incident left Buddy’s face with extensive scarring.

However, this dog has never lost his spirit, and he has had an incredible recovery over the last six months. Now, one year later, his brand-new owner has verified the excellent news that Buddy is ” fully recovered,” and he is doing fantastic.

After returning home in April of last year with major burns on his face after being set on fire, Friend was the first person to make headlines on the incident. His skin was blackened, and the searing was so severe that it caused his eyes to swell shut, leaving him unable to see. As a result, he was blinded. In addition, he was shackled with what seemed to be an extension cord that was wrapped around his neck.

It was eventually determined that the person responsible for the awful assault was a kid. The youngster admitted to lighting the dog on fire, but because of a rule in Mississippi that specifies no one younger than 12 may be prosecuted, the child could not be held accountable for his or her actions.

Due of the severity of Friend’s wounds, the Tunica Humane Culture was the only place that could provide him with the care that he required. His vets were stunned to learn of the situation, and they warned him at the time that the dog had a long road ahead of him, noting that his “prognosis isn’t fantastic right now.”

Sandy Williams, the superintendent of the Tunica Humane Society, said in an interview with FOX 13: ” It’s inconceivable that anybody could be that nasty.” ” Friend was an exceptionally nice and non-aggressive dog. He followed the youngsters about the place like a puppy.

According to Dr. Elizabeth Swanson, an associate professor, and veterinary surgeon, who spoke with WTVA, “Buddy’s vital indicators are outstanding; nevertheless, like any burn patient, this is very much the bottom of a huge mountain to be climbed.”

Later on, Friend was sent to the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in order to get more care, and the veterinarians there were impressed by his positive attitude despite all that had happened.

According to an update sent by the Humane Society, the dog “remain[ed] in excellent spirits, wagging his tail, and being exceedingly cooperative.”

The friend continued to improve as time went on. A friend could not see since he had plasters put around his head; nonetheless, the veterinarians were happy to discover that the burns had not really harmed his eyelids. A friend was unable to see because of the burns.

The Humane Society noted in a post on their Facebook page that “He continues to grow progress every day.” “Never once failing to live up to his physicians’ expectations. The successful results of his skin grafts have brought relief to everyone who was concerned about him. Although recovering from burn wounds is a fairly difficult process, Friend is doing very well in his recuperation.

” While he was having his face modified with plaster today, he displayed a remarkable improvement in the appearance of his face. While Buddy continues to recover, he is now learning some fundamental instructions.

Buddy had really received skin grafts after a few months of development, which made it possible for him to need fewer bandages and allowed him to gradually return to the previous version of himself.

Because the plasters on his ears have been removed, he is feeling much better and is much more lively now. According to an article published by Tunica Humane Culture in the summer of 2017, “I am convinced that he is truly experiencing so much satisfaction as he progressively gets his life back to normal.”

And Friend reached a crucial milestone in August of last year when vets finally removed the bandages that had been covering his face. This gave him the ability to see for the first time in many weeks.

The Humane Society said that the dog’s eyes were indeed open and that he was quite aware of his surroundings. “In response to the tens of thousands upon tens of thousands of prayers that have been offered, YES, Buddy still has his sight.”

“The last awful minutes shortly before Friend’s face was set on fire by a youngster remained as Friend’s last true recall of vision. Within the blink of an eye, this dog’s whole world was turned upside down.

This naughty dog was able to take a significant step toward returning to normality when he was finally able to see, and his caregivers report that he has begun to show more of his true nature as a result.

According to Sandy Williams, superintendent of the Tunica Humane Culture, who was quoted by WREG, “Friend’s whole demeanor has genuinely transformed since seeing the light of day.”

” He likes being playful and can be seen throughout the hospital with a large ball in his mouth, which he carries around with him. He likes balls. He walks about with them so that everyone may see them.”

And only recently, exactly one year after Buddy suffered severe burns, the Humane Culture revealed yet another encouraging development, saying that Buddy is now ” fully recovered.”

A veterinarian examined Buddy when he was in a foster home with Dr. Swanson, and he determined that Buddy is having the time of his life there.

According to what the Tunica Humane Culture stated, ” His face is now entirely healed.” “He is rejoicing in the fact that he no longer needs to wear an electronic collar! His days right now are spent exactly the same as those of any other typical dog. Tossing a ball around, going on long walks, and generally being pampered like the great canine that he is!

” Friend’s incredible recovery from his near-fatal injuries is really a miracle, and all of his carers have a lot to be proud of in light of the fact that they were able to save his life.

The Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, who treated Buddy, also marked the anniversary by having a reunion with their person and celebrating Friend’s recovery from their illness.

In a statement on Facebook, the college stated, “After many procedures, hugs from everyone in the hospital, many games of bringing later, he’s flourishing in his foster home!” They also included a picture of the college’s veterinary team posing with the content and healthy Friend.

It is heartbreaking to consider all that Buddy had to go through; nonetheless, we are overjoyed to see how far he has gone over the course of the last year. Many thanks to all of the veterinarians who have really been of assistance to him during his remarkable recuperation.
