The Record Store Day event for this year will take place on April 23, and the official list of this year’s RSD releases will be available in the near future. One of the releases from Taylor Swift will be a title that has not yet been disclosed.

Swift was quoted as saying in a statement that she was “extremely delighted to be this year’s Ambassador for Record Store Day.”

“I have always held sacrosanct the locations in which my friends and I travel to look about, investigate, and unearth new and ancient musical works. Record shops are so vital because they serve to maintain and cultivate a love of music as a passion, which is why they are so crucial.

They are responsible for the creation of sets for live events. They look for individuals that have a genuine and deep appreciation for music in their employees.

These people and shops have endured some difficult times over the past few years, and it is more important than ever that we provide our support to local, independently owned businesses in order to ensure that they can continue to exist in their current form while retaining their unique character and eccentricity. It has been a great pleasure for me to see the surge in vinyl sales that has occurred over the course of the last few years, and we, the artists, have our fans to thank for this delightful turn of events. Everyone, have a wonderful Record Store Day! Stay careful while you’re out there!

According to the announcement, Taylor Swift “took her support a step further” during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, directing fans to record stores around the country where they could find autographed CDs, bringing much needed traffic and attention at a time when there was uncertainty in the business world. She also then made a small, considerate gesture to a shop that she is quite familiar with, which was directed toward Grimey’s New and Preloved Music in Nashville.

Anna Lundy and Doyle Davis of Grimey’s released a statement in which they expressed their excitement at the news that Taylor Swift will serve as the 2022 Record Store Day Ambassador.

“Swift has shown her love and support for independent record stores not only by supporting our shop specifically during the dark, early days of the pandemic, when she directly donated to help us support our staff, but also by steering her eager, excited, and dedicated fans to independent record stores, places that many of them visited for the first time while searching for her signed CDs. “Swift has shown her love and support for independent record stores by not only supporting our shop specifically during the dark, early days of the pandemic

We have enjoyed seeing Taylor Swift take creative control of her recordings and collaborate with musicians such as Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, whose music has been played frequently in stores similar to ours for many years. Her fans have also grown along with her as an artist, and we have enjoyed watching both of these developments. We are at a loss for words about a more suitable candidate for the role of RSD Ambassador in 2022!”

In the past, Taylor Swift has shown her support for Record Store Day (RSD) by releasing limited editions of her albums 1989 and Speak Now, as well as a 7″ vinyl single version of the track “Gasoline” by Haim.
