We are familiar with the concept of people having guide dogs, but have we ever heard of dogs having their very own guide dogs? It’s the story of Charlie, an 11-year-old golden retriever who suffered from glaucoma and eventually became blind as a result of the condition.

Charlie, who has been a member of the Stipe family ever since he was only a young puppy, has been a wonderful and devoted friend over all of these years. In addition, the couple from North Carolina provided him with all they could. “Emptying our retirement plan to care for this puppy because he makes us happy was a no-brainer for us,” Chelsea said. “For us, it was a no-brainer.”

The lady said that they had always wanted another dog so that Charlie would have someone to talk to about how it feels. As a result, the Stipe family grew a little bit larger in January, as they received Maverick, a gorgeous dog who was already four months old at the time.

At first, Charlie wasn’t apprehensive about his new companion, but as time went on, he became used to his new partner. However, after some time had passed, Chelsea became aware of an extremely peculiar trait shared by both of her canines. According to CBS News, the young Maverick started providing support and assistance to Charlie when he was having difficulties as a result of his blindness.

“They’re both quite wild and unique in their own ways. They unquestionably provide us with enjoyment. Maverick would understand that Charlie would occasionally misplace the toy while they were playing, and he would then pick it up and place it back in front of Charlie in order to re-engage playtime with him. The way Chelsea talks about her cherished pups makes them seem like they “almost morph into small sled dogs” when they stroll together. The Stipes made the decision to tell the tale of their dogs on social media after realizing how remarkable and remarkable the love that exists between their pets.
