Since her owner, Amy Matsushima, came to her rescue, the dog never stops beaming with joy, as seen by the enormous grin she wears almost always.
Amy shared with the Daily Mail that her daughter is “quite goofy, packed with sounds and lively” while she is awake but also grins when she has finished her nap. “Most of the time, you can really catch her smiling.”
On the other hand, Shortcake wasn’t always in such a good mood. In point of fact, she had a very difficult beginning to her life as a stray dog on the streets of Fresno, California, in the state of California.
Amy shared the news with the Daily Mail that Shortcake had been discovered living on the streets and was suffering from severe mange as well as a hernia. When Fresno Bully Rescue became aware of her, she had reached the end of her stay in the sanctuary.
” She had not been in the greatest shape as anyone who encountered her back then remarked that due to her mange, she smelled like rotten flesh. ”
But when Amy saw a picture of Shortcake online, she couldn’t help but fall in love with the dog and the unyielding personality she had.
Amy reported to Greetings America that she was unable to believe it when she saw her photo on the website of the animal rescue organization. “Although she seemed to be in a bad mood, I saw that she was wagging her tail and she had a little grin on her face; this really broke my heart.” I thought to myself, “There is no way I can avoid meeting this dog.”
Amy made the decision to adopt after having her first experience with Shortcake. Thankfully, the dog was able to make a speedy recovery from the mange.
Shortcake is now a happy, healthy, lively, and hip canine; she prefers to hang out at home rather than go on walks, and her fresh-found contentment can be seen plainly written all over her face.
Amy isn’t really sure how to make sense of Shortcake’s consistent and enormous grins, which are one of the most distinctive aspects of her appearance.
She shared with GMA that she was unsure as to why the other person smiled so often. “I can’t make her do it when I tell her to.”
However, Shortcake’s grins have brought joy to her internet followers. Her personal Instagram account, @theladyshortcake, has amassed a following of more than 185,000 users at this point.
Amy said that one of the greatest benefits of social media is that people are able to share with her how much joy she brings to their lives and how they are able to bring a smile to her face. “I just believe that it is so wonderful that she brings happiness to other people.
