Cats are quite fascinating creatures. Their popularity has grown steadily on the internet for more than a decade, and as time has passed, they have attracted an increasing amount of attention in the real world.
It is possible that the therapeutic effects of spending time with cats are the cause of this. In the past five years, a large number of cat cafés have sprung up all over the globe.
It’s possible that this is due to the fact that cats make people feel happy. One jail in Indiana had a similar outcome when they adopted kittens from a shelter and saw firsthand the negative influence this choice had on the convicts’ well-being.
The Animal Protection League and the Pendleton Correctional Facility in Indiana collaborated on a program known as F.O.R.W.A.R. that began in 2015.
The program’s premise was to adopt cats from a shelter and place them in the hands of convicts in the correctional facility where they were adopted. This proved to be an excellent endeavor for all parties concerned.
Many of the cats at the shelter had grown antisocial as a result of their previous abuse.
As a result, it has been difficult for them to find homes. This program assists individuals in regaining their faith in others, which makes it simpler for them to locate a place to live.
As the convicts clean, groom, and feed the animals, the kitties develop more friendly of humans.
Aside from learning how to care for another live being, convicts may participate in this program.
This initiative has been so effective that it has inspired the establishment of similar programs around the United States.
