Bonded couples do not always have to be family members; they may be a pair of canine companions. Click here to see for yourself if you don’t trust us.

Get to know Merrill and Taco, two dogs that were surrendered to an animal shelter in San Francisco called Rocket Dog Rescue. Merrill is a pit bull and Taco is a Chihuahua. Despite the fact that they were of different breeds, they developed a great connection and eventually became inseparable. They were constantly together, did everything together, and never left each other’s side while they were together. They would weep if they were separated from each other.

The shelter’s employees and volunteers realized that they couldn’t live apart and that they needed to be adopted together after seeing their strong attachment. However, there aren’t many individuals out there who are willing to take on both of these responsibilities.

Following this, they posted Taco and Merrill’s tale on social media with the goal of finding them a home. “There has never been a bonded couple like these two in the history of the shelter.” As soon as they are separated from one another, they wail. “This powerful team has lost everything: their family, their home, and now we can’t let them lose themselves!”

It didn’t take long for the tale to become viral, and it finally reached a family in San Diego. Their feelings for Merrill and Taco were mutual, so they decided to adopt them both. The family made certain that the two canines remained together at all times and were well cared for by others. They pledged to post images of the two to keep everyone up to date on their progress.

Taco went away after three years of living with his new family, which was a tragedy. Despite the fact that he passed away, he had a permanent home and a lovely existence for the final three years of his life.

“Yesterday was a really difficult day for us. Taco has died as a result of his injuries. He had a great presence in a little package, and he was very good at it. Originally, we anticipated having him for a year after adoption. We ended up with three. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have had him as a member of our family.”

It’s a really nice and uplifting story. Please share it with your friends and family.
