In one of the loveliest moments you’ve ever seen, a Golden Retriever makes friends with a curious whale shark in the ocean. During their encounter, the two adorable critters even exchanged a kiss, which was seen on camera by the dog’s human mother!

Jade Pursell, an Australian diver, is known for carrying her dog Sailor with her on boat outings. However, she recently experienced a moment she never imagined she would witness, when her beloved fuzzy buddy came face to face with a sea species for the first time. The two were boating off the coast of Australia, near to the Ningaloo Reef, when a whale shark, measuring 22 feet in length, surfaced right next to their vessel. When Jade saw her dog have an extremely close encounter with a whale shark, her heart leapt for delight.

In the words of one of the divers, “Sailor had never met a whale shark before.” The fact that she had done so was considerably better than I could have ever asked for.” I told her not to touch it, but neither of them paid attention to what I was saying. “Sailor kissed the shark after sniffing it.”

Jade was initially concerned because she had no idea how Sailor would respond, but her concerns quickly dissipated when she noticed her dog gently touching her nose with the shark’s. “I was worried,” Jade says.

“I was overjoyed,” she remarked later. “When I saw her swimming with a whale shark, I was honestly delighted for her. Animals are fantastic, and everything could not have gone more smoothly. Initially, I was concerned that she might take a leap of faith onto the shark or that she would come into contact with it. The shark got so close to her that I knew I didn’t have anything to be concerned about.”
