To earn the title of “World’s Worst Cat,” one must have a specific attitude towards life. According to Mitchell County Animal Rescue, Perdita, on the other hand, is “not for the faint of heart.”
The cat, who is four years old, is disinterested in your small human need for love and attention. She hates socializing with other animals, particularly kittens, no matter how “cute” they seem to her. Perdita’s main aim is to rule her country from the comfort of her gray fleece bed, which she considers to be a luxury.
Even the occasional head scratch is OK, and revenge in the form of gifts is welcome. Get on her bad side, and you’ll find yourself nursing a scratched and biting hand for the rest of your life. ‘
Take into consideration that Perdita’s life has not been an easy one before you cast judgment. Amber Lowery, executive director of Mitchell County Animal Rescue, told The Dodo that “her story is really pretty tragic.” For a period of time, after her owner died, she was left alone at home.
Perdita’s neighbors, who had been providing her with food at the end, made a call to the animal rescue.
When Perdita finally arrived at the shelter, she was in such a foul mood that officials believed she was suffering from a medical condition.
Perdita was in perfect health, as confirmed by the veterinarian in a short period of time. Initially, the shelter believed she was ill, but it turned out she was simply being rude.
Upon realizing that finding a home for Perdita would be tough, the shelter’s staff started thinking outside the box and came up with innovative solutions. The two of them came up with the idea of being brutally honest about her strong personality, which Lowery stated. As a result, the appropriate person will be able to adopt her and understand that she is not the cuddly, kitteny kind.
Perdita’s less-than-pleasant characteristics were publicized on Facebook, and she was dubbed the “World’s Worst Cat,” which was met with much amusement. The post became viral in a short period of time.
In the words of the Facebook post: “Meet Perdita, she is definitely not for the faint of heart.” LOVES: staring into your soul until you feel as if you’ll never be cheerful again; the song Cat Scratch Fever; the movie Pet Cemetery (Church is her inspiration); jump scares (her specialty); lurking in dark corners; being the ruler of her domain; deceiving shelter staff into thinking she’s sick (vet agrees…but she’s a jerk); being the queen of her domain. Pink, kittens (yuck, they’re so adorable), dogs, children, the Dixie Chicks, Disney movies, Christmas, and, last but not least, HUGS are among her pet peeves. She’s single and looking forward to being socially uncomfortable with a socially awkward individual who understands the need for personal space.”
As a consequence, a humorously candid Facebook post was written, promoting Perdita’s less-than-pleasant attributes and naming her the “World’s Worst Cat.” The post became viral in a matter of days.
“Meet Perdita,” the Facebook post reads. “Not for the faint of heart.” LIKES: staring into your soul until you feel like you’ll never be happy again; the song Cat Scratch Fever, the movie Pet Cemetery (Church is her hero), jump scares (her specialty), lurking in dark corners, being the queen of her domain, deceiving shelter staff into thinking she’s sick (vet agrees…but she’s a jerk) DISLIKES: pink, kittens (yuck, they’re so adorable), dogs, children, the Dixie Chicks, Disney movies, Christmas, and, of course, HUGS. She’s unmarried and looking for a socially awkward person that understands how to respect personal space.”
Lowery said, “We are carefully scrutinizing the candidates.” “We’ll take great care to put her in a loving and understanding family.”
Lowery is sure that someone who is patient and calm is out there, and she is more than willing to give Perdita the privacy she wants.
