All three of the ‘Mean Girls’ actors, Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert, appeared in a Walmart commercial that was released not too long ago.

In this interview, Rachel McAdams discusses the reasons why she declined the opportunity to reprise her role as Regina George. During an interview with Variety, the actress explained her choice to decline participation in a commercial that included Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert all reprising their characters from the Mean Girls film.

“I don’t know; if I’m being really honest, I think I wasn’t that enthused about doing a commercial until I started working on it. “I’ve never done commercials, and it just didn’t feel like my bag,” McAdams said. “A movie sounded awesome, but I’ve never done commercials until now.” Also, I was unaware that everyone else was engaging in the activity. I would have like to be a part of a Mean Girls reunion and hang out with my Plastics, but unfortunately, I didn’t find out about it until much later.

In response to the question of why she would not be returning for the planned Mean Girls movie musical, McAdams said, “Tina [Fey] and I sort of dabbled with a few ideas, but it was difficult to make it all work in the end.” No matter what she wanted to do, I was completely on board with it. I believe that the path that it took will be something that is very remarkable, and I cannot wait to see it.

After the advertisement with a Mean Girls theme was shown, ET had a conversation with Chabert regarding the possibility of playing Gretchen Wieners once again.

“It was so much fun to step back into Gretchen’s shoes and to be with Lindsay and Amanda and spend the whole day together,” according to her. Once again, it seemed like a moment in which everything came full circle. Nearly twenty years have elapsed since we were all mothers at this point. When we were able to get back together, it was a delight.

Chabert said that she believes a “sequel would be amazing,” but that she is simply grateful that they got to do the commercial together if nothing more comes of it. She went on to say, “I’m so thankful that we had that experience and got a chance to do that.” This statement was made in advance of the twenty-year anniversary of the film’s release.
