When it comes to concentrating on herself, Kelly Clarkson is having a great time.
On Wednesday, when she was presenting The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 41-year-old singer, who is now going through a divorce, gave an interview to a guest named Shannen Doherty. During the course of the conversation, she revealed some intimate details about her life.
“I think I need a little more work on me in a relationship to make sure that I take care of myself at the same time as somebody else,” said Clarkson, who has been separated from music manager Brandon Blackstock since March 2022. Blackstock was Clarkson’s ex-husband.
“You thought you were going to spend forever with this person,” Clarkson added, despite the fact that she is “still in the stage of really enjoying me.” Clarkson explained how “hard” divorce may be due of this.
When Doherty, who is 52 years old, brought up the fact that her dogs are a source of comfort for her, Clarkson agreed with her, but she also acknowledged that in the past, they were not permitted to sleep in the bed of the previous marriage. “Because it’s for fun… that kind of fun,” she chuckled.
My dogs have been in charge of my bed ever since I went through a separation and am now going through a divorce. Clarkson continued by saying, “I believe that they would despise the next person who came in.”
The year 2012 saw the engagement of Clarkson and Blackstock, who is the son of Narvel Blackstock and the stepson of Reba McEntire. They went on to be married the following year. Their daughter River Rose, who is now nine years old, and their son Remington “Remy” Alexander, who is seven years old, were born during their marriage.
The winner of American Idol filed for divorce in the year 2020, and the divorce was successfully concluded two years later.
Following her appearance on the Today program in September, the diva engaged in a public Instagram Live discussion with her followers, during which she discussed the state of her romantic relationships.

In a different part of her conversation with Doherty on Wednesday, Clarkson discussed some of the more emotional situations she has encountered, touching on the comfort she receives from her dog, Henry.
Henry would come in and then shove his head under my arm and just sit there with me while I was crying a lot. This is something that occurs when you are going through a period of mourning. And I was thinking to myself, “Is there a man like this in the area?” “Who is it?'”
Clarkson made the observation, “Also, I love myself, and I love spending time with myself.” “It’s really fantastic. It has a strong sensation!”
