ET had a conversation with The Cow, the new winner of the Golden Mask Trophy, with whom he discussed his experience on the program.

With the conclusion of yet another season of The Masked Singer and the presentation of yet another Golden Mask Trophy, the program has once again shown that it is capable of having a significant influence on the celebrities who are willing to take part in the surreal fun.

During the grand finale of the tenth season of The Masked musician, which took place on Wednesday, The Cow was eventually revealed to be the R&B musician and actor Ne-Yo, garnering the highest accolade of the evening.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight (ET) on Wednesday, Ne-Yo reminisced on his time spent on the program and related how the opportunity to perform in a different manner and with some anonymity rekindled his passion for creating music.

“I’ve always been very certain about who I am, what I am, what I can do well, and as Ne-Yo, I know what is the Ne-Yo wheelhouse,” he further added. “But as a songwriter, I could be Rihanna, I could be Beyonce, I could be Omarion, I could be whoever — as a songwriter.”

“The music industry, as a whole, if you allow it, will kind of take some of that joy from you,” said the musician. “I didn’t get into music to get rich or to get famous, I got into music because it’s literally woven into my DNA.”

Until he had the opportunity to put on the Cow costume, Ne-Yo claims that he had lately experienced a decrease in the intensity of his feelings for the person he loved as a result of the demands that the business itself imposed on him.

“This show.. has revitalized that joy for me,” according to him. “So that’s my major takeaway, for me.”
