The fact that Reba McEntire is 68 years old today is evidence that she is deserving of every single distinction that she can get. Personally, I get the impression that I have known her for the whole of my life, and I continue to listen to her on a regular basis.
With that being said, Reba’s life has not been without its share of difficulties; this year marks the 32nd anniversary of an airplane tragedy that claimed the lives of many of her close friends.
Following her breakthrough in the country music industry in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Reba McEntire was awarded the title of “best singer” by the Country Music Association for a consecutive period of four years. Without a doubt, she is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Reba has had a lot of personal catastrophes throughout her life, despite the fact that she has had an incredible career and has achieved a great deal of success.
During the year 2022, Reba’s mother, Jacqueline, passed away unexpectedly due to cancer. She was 93 years old.
She was perfectly ready to pass away since she had lived a great, full, and healthy life up until that point. “The cancer may believe it has won the battle, but we are giving God full credit for choosing the time for her to return to Him,” the country singer said in a message that she shared on social media.

Seven of her bandmates and her tour manager were among those who perished in a tragic airplane crash that occurred on March 16, 1982, when she was performing at a performance.
I can still vividly remember that day in 1991. It was on the radio that I learned about the accident, and I was on my way to work at the time. This caused my heart to skip a beat when I discovered that Reba was also on the aircraft.
On the other hand, she was not being honest.
The last stop on the tour for Reba and her band was in San Diego on March 16, 1991, and they were now on their way to Fort Wayne, Indiana, for their subsequent performance.
At the San Diego airport, there were two planes ready for passengers: the members of the band and the tour manager took off first, while Reba, her husband, and the manager remained there for the night.
Unfortunately, the first jet went missing around ten miles east of the airport as it was taking off.
Over the course of her life, Reba has repeatedly paid tributes to her pals who have passed away.
During an emotional interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2012, she discussed the day when her band passed away before she talked about it.
According to what McEntire said to Winfrey at the time, “the tip of the wing of the airplane hit a rock on the side of Otay Mountain, and it killed everyone on the plane.”
Following the notification that we received, Narvel, who is Reba’s manager, went to our pilot and informed him of the situation. When Narvel arrived back to the hotel room where I was staying, it was between two and three in the morning. He informed me that one of the aircraft had just crashed, and I asked him, “Are they okay?” In response, he said, “I don’t think so.” “However, you are not certain?” I inquired about it. In response, he said, “I don’t think so.”
Reba’s eyes welled up with tears as she recalled the particulars of the disaster which had occurred.
She paused as tears began to form in her eyes and stated, “Narvel was going from room to room with a phone, calling…” She continued by saying, “I’m sorry — it’s been twenty years, but it’s just like — I don’t guess it ever stops hurting.” this was her next statement. “Regardless, I am able to see that room. As he walks back and forth, Narvel is pacing.
Thirty-two years have passed since the tragic event that occurred. She has recently posted a picture of her band on Instagram, which is a reflection of the terrible events that occurred on that day.
In the year 2020, she offered yet another tribute to her friends.
A aircraft tragedy that occurred 29 years ago today claimed the lives of my companions. The timing of Mama’s passing with that date feels appropriate, she says. “It seems fitting.”
“I have no doubt that they are all in Heaven together, all of them watching over each other.” We should never take even a single moment with our loved ones for granted, and we should continue to find new ways to care for one another here on Earth.
