World, meet Biscuit — a sweet cat about whom there’s more than little to love.
But Biscuit’s big heart isn’t the only thing about her that’s oversized.

This week, employees from the West Valley Humane Society in Idaho posted tragic news on their organization’s social media accounts. Her family sent her back to the shelter less than a year after adopting her from there, and she was in a condition that was less than desirable.
When Biscuit was first taken in by her new family, she was an obese cat. And there was absolutely no difference at all.
The animal shelter commented, “We need to get real about Biscuit—she weighs just under 24 pounds, which is grossly obese for a cat,” in reference to Biscuit’s weight. If she does not shed around half of her body weight, her life expectancy will be reduced.

Now, Biscuit was once again ready for adoption; but, this time the personnel at the shelter placed an increased focus on what it means to be a caring pet parent, which includes assisting her in becoming the healthiest version of herself.
The animal shelter said in a letter that “even though she is adorable, we do not want her to be adopted again simply because Chonky is cute.” “We want her to be adopted because her prospective new owner is head over heels in love with her and is willing to do whatever it takes to get this girl to a healthy weight,” said the adoption agency representative. This requires a balanced diet, frequent exercise, trips to the veterinarian at regular intervals, and, of course, a lot of love and support.
The animal shelter made it quite obvious that taking care of Biscuit would be a project. Nevertheless, it is a deserving one.

Biscuit participated in a photo session with shelter volunteer Sue Anderson, who owns and manages Black Cat Photography. The photos were taken for the purpose of sharing with prospective adopters, along with a letter describing what Biscuit’s ideal life would be like moving forward.
And, as expected, it was successful.
The beginning of Biscuit’s new adventure started only a few short hours after the post about her was made.
“Good news! According to what Anderson shared with The Dodo, Biscuit was only just adopted. “She was adopted this morning, and I am hopeful that we’ll soon be able to post her ‘after’ photos, which will show a trimmer and healthier cat,” said the adopter.
Now that Biscuit has a new place to call home, we can only hope that she will soon be able to enjoy her life to the maximum extent possible. Anderson is certain that she can succeed if she is given the support and motivation that she needs at this point in her journey.
“Biscuit is friendly and inquisitive, and it’s clear from the look on her face that all this girl wants to do is have a good time!” Anderson stated.
