A devastating incident unfolded in Louisiana on Sunday when a man named Shamar Elkins killed eight children—seven of his own and one cousin—before being shot by police during a pursuit. Authorities later revealed that, weeks before the घटना, he had made troubling comments about struggling with “demons.”

Police in Shreveport responded to a domestic disturbance call early Sunday morning. Inside the home, they discovered the bodies of eight children between the ages of 3 and 11. Two adult women—his wife and another woman believed to be his partner—were also seriously injured.

Family members identified the victims and described them as kind, happy children. Officials said the situation was deeply distressing for first responders and the community. Some reports indicated that a few of the children attempted to escape during the attack.

According to relatives, Elkins and his wife were in the process of separating and had a court date scheduled. After the घटना, Elkins fled and was later killed by police during an attempted carjacking.

In the weeks leading up to the tragedy, he had expressed to family members that he was overwhelmed by dark thoughts. During a phone call on Easter, he reportedly said he wanted a divorce and spoke about not being able to overcome his inner struggles, remarking that some people never recover from their “demons.”
