Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for President Donald Trump to be removed from office under the Twenty-fifth Amendment.

The controversy began after Trump shared a post on social media, stating: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change… maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?,” according to VT.

He reportedly described the moment as potentially “one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World.”

The post followed earlier warnings from Trump that Iran “could be taken out in one night,” adding that such action could happen imminently. He also suggested that if Iran failed to comply with his demands, the country could be pushed back to the “Stone Ages,” saying it would lose critical infrastructure like bridges and power plants.

“This is evil and madness”
The scale of destruction implied in his remarks sparked strong backlash, with critics raising the possibility of invoking the Twenty-fifth Amendment—a rarely used constitutional mechanism that allows for a president’s removal under specific conditions.

Greene responded forcefully to Trump’s comments, writing: “25TH AMENDMENT!!! Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness.”

Trump announces ceasefire with Iran
The situation has fueled ongoing concerns about U.S. military strategy, presidential authority, and the broader global risks of escalating tensions with Iran.

However, following the remarks, the U.S. and Iran reportedly reached a temporary, conditional ceasefire lasting two weeks, according to the BBC. After facilitating negotiations, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the ceasefire took effect immediately.

During this period, shipping traffic is allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz under coordination with the Iranian military. Trump reportedly stated he would “suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks” if Tehran agreed to reopen the strait. On Truth Social, he added that the decision came because “we have already met and exceeded all military objectives.”
