This came after the neighbors had bombarded 911 with cries of terror throughout the incident. Despite being taken to a neighboring hospital, both were declared dead shortly after arrival.
Subsequently, the authorities disclosed that the person responsible for the shooting was Keith Cordes, who was 37 years old and took Vicki’s stepson. The shooting was not an act of desperation. According to the authorities, the assault was a deliberate and planned one.
Mike Hylton, a neighbor, claims that the person who committed the murder was not at a haste. An ambush was being set up by him. “He did like a drive-by, like a dry run at 11:25 and then went and staked out at that cul-de-sac,” he said in his interview. “Then at 12:01, he must have waited for the garage door to open, and that was it.” It was at that moment that Mike’s kid, who had just heard the bullets, saw a vehicle accelerate away. When Mike arrived at the home, he was met with a horrifying scene: the pair was bleeding out in their own garage, with Dr. Cordes slumped in the driver’s seat of his Maserati and Vicki laying on the ground behind him. Mike was shocked to see such a dreadful scene.
Shots had been fired in both the head and the neck of Dr. Cordes. “I watched them die,” Mike said recounting the event. “They attempted to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Eric, but it was too late for him to survive. He went dead immediately, and it is possible that she may have survived for another ten minutes or so. Near Ayala Park in Chino, some 70 miles away from the first murder site, the police discovered the suspect’s car, a black Honda Civic, engulfed in flames. This discovery was made less than three hours after the initial incident.
Inside the charred debris was a person that had been severely burnt, and it was subsequently determined via forensic tests that the body belonged to Keith. According to the police, he first set fire to the vehicle and then shot himself to death.
The investigators suspect that the pistol that was discovered from the location is the same weapon that was used in the killings that occurred in Simi Valley. A long-standing family conflict is being investigated by the police, despite the fact that they have not formally disclosed a reason for the crime. In an interview with the Post, Mike, a neighbor, said that tensions had been building up for some time.
“There was a dispute over money, and basically there was a threat — and he followed through with it,” he said to reporters.

And as they are trying to figure out why a son pulled a pistol on his father and stepmother, another frightening case is still emerging. This is a case that is still being investigated. The death of a young lady is being investigated from a suspicious perspective, and once again, a member of the family is being investigated.
The circumstances surrounding the death of Anna Kepner, who was 18 years old, are still being investigated by the police, as we had previously reported. Christopher Kepner and Heather Wright, her parents, are providing contradictory stories of what they think occurred aboard the ship and who may eventually be guilty for what happened. In the meantime, her parents are sharing their views.
In an interview with People, Anna’s father said that his daughter’s body was discovered on November 7, 2025, behind a bed on the Carnival Horizon. This occurred one day after she had eaten dinner with her family. The cause of death described on the death certificate of the adolescent is “mechanically asphyxiated by other person(s).” The outlet was able to collect this information. It is being looked into by the FBI.
Heather Wright, Anna’s mother, said to Fox News Digital that she had been emotionally detached from her daughter’s life for a considerable amount of time. Christopher Wright had divorced her when Anna was four years old. She said that she relocated to Oklahoma and made an effort to keep in touch with Anna, but she was progressively eliminated from the conversation. Indicating that he wants his stepson to be involved, the father says, “I want him to face the consequences.”
According to the reporting of People, Christopher has verified that the court documents show that his stepson, who is 16 years old, is being probed as part of the inquiry into Anna’s death. On the evening of November 6, he said that he had seen Anna for the final time during a family supper. The next day, a housekeeper discovered her corpse concealed under a bed inside the property.
He told the publication, “I do not stand behind what my stepson has done,” although he declined to confirm or refute what he knows about his stepson’s suspected role in the incident. He also added:
The repercussions are something that I want him to face… To ensure that this occurs, I will be working hard to make it happen.
Christopher said, “I cannot say that he is responsible but I can’t decline.” This decision was made in response to the question of whether or not he feels the adolescent was responsible. In addition, Anna informed the ex-boyfriend that Shauntel “doesn’t really like her… she has an attitude most of the time and was very controlling over her.” Anna’s statement was made to the ex-boyfriend.
