It is said that while under the influence of alcohol, a guy was driving a pink Barbie Jeep that was designed for children, and he was taken into custody as a result.
According to a statement sent to the press by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the event took place on a “busy” roadway in Prince George, British Columbia, at around 9:00 a.m. local time on September 5.
Corporal Jennifer Cooper, who is the Media Relations Officer for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), stated in the statement that “Although some people might consider stopping a driver who is operating a toy car to be a waste of police resources, the danger that the driver was posing to other motorists on the road, who were forced to go around him, combined with the danger that the driver was putting himself in because other drivers are not accustomed to looking out for toy cars on the busy road, was sufficient justification for police involvement.”
According to Cooper, the guy, who would eventually be identified as Kasper Lincoln, was discovered to be driving under the influence of alcohol and also had a suspended license. In the end, he was “arrested for prohibited driving,” she said.
On Sunday, September 14, PEOPLE magazine made an attempt to contact the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in order to get their comments, but they did not get a response right away.
Before the arrest, Lincoln was photographed by a number of bystanders. The photographs depict him in a state of happiness, cruising along a major strip with a smile on his face and wearing enormous sunglasses that reflected light. Additional photographs show him being followed by a police cruiser, which eventually led to his being placed in handcuffs.
When Lincoln was released, he gave an interview to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. During the interview, he told them that he had been planned to meet up with a buddy to grab a Slurpee, but that he then “got lazy” and decided to drive his roommate’s child’s toy vehicle instead of walking.
He chuckled as he informed the news source, “I had never driven it before.”
Lincoln said that he is now facing a prosecution for driving while under the influence; however, he intends to contest the case on the grounds that he was unaware that he was violating any laws.
He made a statement to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, saying, “I was using the hand signals and everything.” Additionally, Abraham Lincoln said that he has no ill will against the arresting officer despite the sad turn of events that has occurred.
“He was an extremely kind person.” He was filling out all of this paperwork while exclaiming, “This is the first time I have ever done this!” Lincoln remembered.
After that, the guy proceeded to impart his final conclusions that he had drawn from the incident, informing the news organization, “Don’t drink and drive.”
