What happened to Adam Walsh, who was John Walsh’s son?
Adam, who was six years old at the time, went shopping with his mother, Revé, on July 27, 1981. They proceeded to a Sears department store that was located in a shopping center close to their house in Hollywood, Florida. According to the police complaint, Revé went in search of a light while leaving Adam in the toy department with a group of youngsters who were simultaneously playing a video game. The moment she came back, Adam was nowhere to be seen.

Adam Walsh was murdered by who?
Ottis Toole, a serial killer who was the accomplice of Henry Lee Lucas, one of the most prolific serial murderers in history, first admitted to killing Adam, but he then changed his testimony and denied having committed the crime.
Toole allegedly claimed that he kidnapped Walsh and then began striking him when Walsh refused to stop talking, as reported by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. In spite of Toole’s insistence that he was the one who had slain Adam, he eventually changed his mind.
According to reports, Toole had previously admitted to and then recanted his statements on a number of crimes, one of which being the murder of Adam; yet, the police and Adam’s parents continued to think that he was the person responsible for Adam’s death. Toole said that Adam was the youngest victim he had ever had in an interview that was recorded with the Texas Rangers, as reported by ABC News.
In the year 1996, Toole passed away while he was serving life sentences for a number of previous offenses. In 2008, the investigation was finished, and the police said that they were certain that Toole was the person responsible for Adam’s death. However, Toole was never prosecuted in connection with the crime.
