When Celine Tam, then nine years old and hailing from Hong Kong, auditioned for the 12th season of America’s Got Talent in 2017, she completely blew away the crowd. During her performance of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” her incredible vocal skills left judge Simon Cowell stunned. This was particularly true considering that he had first misjudged her based on her looks. However, despite the fact that My Heart Will Go On is difficult for many adults to sing, Celine, who was named after her hero, managed to capture audiences with her strong and emotive voice.

In a short amount of time, her audition video became the most watched video of 2017 in Hong Kong, and it was also one of the top 15 viral videos in the history of America’s Got Talent. Celine’s adventure continued when she was awarded a golden buzzer for her performance of How Am I Supposed to Live Without You, which established her as a favorite among all of the audience members. Celine’s performances, such as “When You Believe” and “How Far I’ll Go,” left a lasting impression on both the judges and the audience, despite the fact that she did not make it to the finals.

The young star, who has previously competed in both Britain’s Got Talent and World’s Got Talent, continues to express her admiration for Celine Dion’s songs to her family, even going so far as to name her younger sister Dion.
