Weston Gosa Jr., the son of Whitney Purvis, took his own life. He was sixteen years old.
An announcement of the passing of her kid was made by the actress of 16 and Pregnant on her Facebook page on Monday, June 2. In addition, she sent a number of photographs of Gosa, some of which included Purvis.
It is quite challenging to compose this. Unfortunately, my beloved son, Weston, has died away. His age was just sixteen years old. The world is a terrible and unjust place. Simply put, I do not comprehend. In the beginning of her announcement, she said, “Oh, my baby has passed away, and I have no idea what to do with myself.”
He was just flawless. In all honesty, this is the realization of my worst dread. How do you go on with your life following the death of a child? I am really unable to believe that this is taking place. “I don’t want it to be true,” she stated in her letter. To just be able to hold him, I would do everything. The anguish that I am experiencing is beyond my ability to put into words.
She went on to say, “Weston Owen Gosa, I love you so much.” You are very dear to my heart, God. My my heart is in you. As you matured into a young man, I couldn’t help but feel proud of you. Without you, I just cannot go on with my life. Your angel, may you rest in peace. You have left us far too soon. From April 2, 2009 till June 2, 2025.”
She uploaded a second post to her Facebook page, which included a photograph of the mother and boy while they were embracing one another and smiling simultaneously.
Dear Weston, may you finally rest in peace. Without end, my love for you is unending. For the rest of my life, I will never comprehend why life is so cruel. It was written in the caption, “You will always be my baby.”
However, Purvis did not disclose the reason for the death. On the other hand, Weston’s stepmother said in a post that she made on Facebook that the family had requested an autopsy in order to determine the reason for his passing.
“All that we know is that we woke up this morning about seven o’clock and attempted to rouse him up. He was not breathing, so we did cardiopulmonary resuscitation and then we phoned an ambulance. Additionally, the paramedics made an effort to save his life and transported him to a hospital in Gordon County, where he was subsequently declared dead,” she said.
Amy said, “In addition to diabetes, he suffered from a number of other health problems.” We have been left in utter disbelief and utterly devastated. It came as such a shock. My experience of losing a kid is the most excruciating thing I have ever gone through, and I pray that I will never have to go through it again.
“He was the most incredible son I could have ever hoped to have,” she said. It was clear that he had a lot of promise in life, since he was clever, witty, and hilarious. Not a single thing feels genuine. Our family and Whitney would appreciate it if you would remember them in your thoughts and prayers as we grieve the loss of such a remarkable and remarkable life that was our son. “Thank you very much,” she finished.
On April 2, 2009, Whitney and Weston Sr. became parents for the first time. This event took place during the first season of the MTV program 16 and Pregnant. After the pair had previously broken up, they resumed their relationship before to the birth of their second son, River, in 2014. Following the arrival of River, they once again parted ways.
Since the end of their relationship, Whitney has been unable to maintain custody of both of her sons. According to TMZ, she was taken into custody in 2024 on the suspicion that she had failed to provide child support payments.
