When Kate Middleton was asked to pose for a photograph on a recent “sunny and leafy stroll,” she chose to reveal a different side of herself rather than flashing her famed grin for the camera.
A snapshot of Kate was posted on the Instagram page of photographer Josh Shinner on May 29. Shinner has previously worked as a photographer for the family of the Princess of Wales on many occasions, including the recent portrait of Prince Louis on his seventh birthday.
The breathtaking photograph was first made public earlier this month in conjunction with the announcement that the Royal Horticultural Society had named a rose in honor of Princess Kate. The photograph was taken on the Isle of Mull during a recent trip to the island. The Princess of Wales featured in the photograph wearing the same clothing that she wore for their royal engagement of visiting the rangers at the Ardura Community Forest, who play an important role in the protection of the local environment. Kate and Prince William traveled to the Scottish island at the end of April.
The photograph depicts the monarch with her arms crossed, displaying the engagement ring that Princess Diana had previously worn, and looking squarely at the camera. At the same time that she was taking in the scenery outside, Kate offered a tiny smirk rather than a complete grin.
For a long time, Princess Kate has been a supporter of spending time outdoors; nevertheless, over the course of her treatment for cancer in the previous year, her relationship with nature took on a more profound significance.
She made her first appearance in a shot that displayed her resting against a tree in a stance that was similar to Shinner’s image. This was her first health update after she revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer. Sally Bedell Smith, a royal biographer, commented on the photograph to People magazine, saying, “There she is in nature, which has fortified her, and looking upward in a sign of real hope and encouragement for everybody.”
As part of the United Kingdom’s celebration of Mother’s Day in March, the Princess of Wales decided to pay tribute to Mother Nature by posting a video that included a variety of sights from the great outdoors.
Kate is quoted as saying, “Over the course of the past year, nature has been our sanctuary,” in the description of the Instagram image. “This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognize how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life.”
In light of the fact that their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, are on vacation from school, Princess Kate and Prince William have chosen to withdraw from the center of public attention this week. For the purpose of spending more time together as a family, the pair often lowers the number of royal expeditions they go on during school holidays.
