“I Kissed a Girl,” the song that Jill Sobule made popular in 1995, has been verified to have passed away by TMZ.

TMZ was informed by her agent, Craig Grossman, that the singer-songwriter passed away on Thursday as a result of a home fire that occurred when she was visiting with a friend in a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota. The news of her passing was also verified by her manager, John Porter.

According to what he stated in the statement, “Jill Sobule was a force of nature and an advocate for human rights, and her music is woven into our culture.” Being able to collaborate with her was a lot of joy for me. Both a buddy and a customer passed away today. My goal is that her music, memories, and legacy will continue to inspire others and continue to live on.

The song “Supermodel” from the critically acclaimed film “Clueless” was also sung by Jill. The film also featured Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, Brittany Murphy, Donald Faison, Breckin Meyer, and Stacey Dash.

In Denver, her hometown, she was slated to perform on Friday night at the Tuft Theater, which is owned and operated by Swallow Hill Music.

Over the course of her three-decade career in Hollywood, she recorded a total of twelve albums, and she also wrote an autobiographical musical called “F*** 7th Grade,” which received widespread critical praise. Moreover, Jill was the one who composed the theme song for the Nickelodeon program “Unfabulous.”

According to John, there will be a memorial service later this summer that will be a proper celebration of her life and legacy.

James and Mary Ellen Sobule, her brother and sister-in-law, as well as her cherished nephews, Ian Matthew and Robert, and Robert’s wife, Irina, are among those who are left behind after her passing.
