When it comes to music, Gizelle Bryant and her children adhere to this one very specific guideline.
At the Love Hotel Premiere Screening, which took place on Sunday, April 27, at a private mansion in Bel-Air, the 54-year-old actress of Real Housewives of Potomac said that Slim Shady is the kind of person that you would never hear played in her vehicle or in her home. She made this statement in an exclusive interview with Time magazine.
“Oh my God, that is not the case. The fact that my children would say, “That’s Eminem,” whenever they heard it on the radio while we were driving is a funny thing to consider. Bryant tells PEOPLE, “Turn it on over here.” “My children are completely in control of the situation. That is true. There will be no Eminem for us.
She is a mother to three daughters: Grace, who is twenty years old, and twins Angel and Adore, who are all nineteen years old.
According to records acquired by PEOPLE, Bryant’s quarrel with the 15-time Grammy winner, who is 52 years old, stemmed from a lawsuit that was filed in December 2023 concerns a trademark issue. The case was about Bryant and her former RHOP cast mate Robyn Dixon calling their podcast Reasonably Shady, as well as items linked with the program.
Eminem, whose true name is Marshall Mathers III, debuted his album titled The Slim Shady in the year 1999, and ever since then, the term has been associated with him.
An interest in their “shady” dispute was rekindled with the publication of his album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), in the year 2024.

I consider it to be an act of folly. According to Byant, who is speaking to PEOPLE about their current legal processes, “I want it to be over, for sure.”
Nevertheless, the mother of three claims that things are going quite well for her and her colleague Green-Eyed Bandit, despite the fact that their podcast may be subject to repercussions due to the title of the program.
“Reasonably Shady, it’s still up and running,” she adds of the podcast, adding, “And we’re like 10 million downloads strong in our fifth season.” She said this in reference to the podcast.
“The Eminem lawsuit is still going on,” Byant said in an interview with People. We are at the very end of the process, but you have to realize that it is similar to a problem with the Patent and Trade Commission, and they have their own schedule for when it will be finished. That puts us on their timeframe, right?
She continues by saying, “The next step is for him to be removed from his position.” Then, we’ll wait and see what transpires from that point on.”
In addition, the reality star has said that while she and her children do not approve of Eminem, they do not have any problems with Dr. Dre, who has been a longstanding collaborator of Eminem’s.
Previously, Mathers made a request for a protection order against Bryant and Dixon, who are both 46 years old. In the application, he said that it would be “unduly burdensome” for him to be deposed himself owing to his “limited knowledge of the subjects at issue.”
At the time, his manager Paul Rosenberg was willing to be deposed, with the filing stating that Eminem “is removed from the daily activities and details that comprise the use and promotion of” his SHADY marks, even though he is “the listed owner and signatory of the asserted trademark registrations.”
In spite of this, In Touch Weekly published an article in September 2024 stating that the lawyers for Bryant and Dixon stated that “Mr. Mathers’ deposition is critical in determining ownership, validity of rights, state of mind that pertains to fame, along with actual confusion issues, and current use.”
