A neighbor was kind enough to install a new fence for a lady who was fortunate enough to get it for free.
The act of service was documented on TikTok by a member of the social media platform who goes by the name Uncle Jhonn. The video has already received more than 14 million views.
It was as I was cycling along the street today that I became aware of the fact that the fence belonging to my neighbor was lying on the ground. I have made the decision to replace it entirely at no cost, just due to the fact that I am a young retiree and I do not have anything else that I would rather be doing. In addition, I am certain that if they had the financial means to have it done, it would have been done by now,” the kind Samaritan had said at the beginning of the video tape.
He proceeded to clarify that the neighbor is a single mother who has a boy in the next segment of the film.
“The person that answered the door was her mom, and when I asked her about the fence, she said they’ve been wanting to get it down for, like, two to three years now,” Uncle Jhonn said to me. “But every time they try to get a contractor or someone to come out and look at it, it was well over $6,000 to get it replaced.”
On top of that, he said that the single mother was dealing through a number of difficulties, one of which was that she had been involved in an accident around three months earlier “that caused her to completely total her car and caused serious injury to her neck.” It was also said by the TikTok user that the lady had been widowed for around three years.
“Y’all know it can only be God that led me to stop by and knock on that door,” Uncle Jhonn stated in response.
Following his evaluation of the state of the fence, he said that he made the decision to construct a brand new fence for the lady.
“It cost me, like, right over $2,000 to do, and that’s simply because everything that I use is built to last, so they don’t never have to worry about this fence falling over again,” he said further.
At the conclusion of his film, he pledged to tear down and rebuild a whole neighborhood.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Uncle Jhonn said that the conviction that even the smallest acts of kindness may have a significant impact is what drives him to assist other people.
“I’ve always been passionate about making a difference in my community, and seeing the positive change firsthand keeps me inspired to continue these projects,” according to his statement.
