It’s true that Jane Fonda is 87 years old, yet she doesn’t seem to be any older than that.

Regarding her new sneaker campaign with the company Golden Goose, which was released on Tuesday, February 18, Fonda gave an interview to The New York Times in which she discussed her workout routines, her personal style, and her ideas on the process of aging. “I don’t have the age of an elderly person in me. After discussing her love for the brand’s shoes and the fact that she works out with a trainer on a daily basis, she said, “I am much younger than I was when I was in my 20s, in all the ways that matter.”

During the course of this campaign, the thought never came to me that, “Oh my God, isn’t this amazing? They are employing an elderly lady,'” she went on to say. “But now that I think about it, I find that it is rather cool. It appeals to me.

A little more than a month ago, Fonda gave an interview to PEOPLE in which she discussed her training regimen and said, “I essentially do everything I used to do, just slower.” Her most recent remarks about aging and her fitness routine came little over a month after she gave this interview.

Fonda continued by saying, “I used to be a runner, but now I love walking,” which she said at the time. “I love being outdoors in the woods, especially up and down hills.”

During her interview with People, Fonda also reflected on the effect that her workout films from the 1980s had on the fitness routines of a generation of women. She recounted getting letters from women all over the globe who talked about the wonderful impact that her videos had on their lives.

“I had no idea my videos were going to become such a phenomenon,” Fonda said to reporters. When I first began my journey, there were not many opportunities for women to engage in strenuous types of physical activity. During the 1970s, I went to a dynamic instructor by the name of Leni Kasden and taught the fundamentals of the exercise.

Throughout her career, Fonda has been seen in a large number of films and television shows. She began her acting career in 1960 and has starred in dozens of films and series simultaneously. Most recently, she provided the voice for a character in the animated film Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken, which was released in 2023. Additionally, she repeated her role in the second Book Club film. Furthermore, she appeared in the film This Is Me… Now, which was directed by Jennifer Lopez and starred Jennifer Lopez as Monster-in-Law.

During her appearance at the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will take place on Sunday, February 23, Fonda will be presented with the Screen Actors Guild’s Life Achievement Award. In October of 2024, the actors’ union made the announcement that Fonda will be receiving the award for this year. “I have been working in this industry for almost the entirety of my life and there’s no honor like the one bestowed on you by your peers,” she said in a statement that was released.
