Ant Anstead, Christina’s ex-husband, was selected to serve as one of the guest judges in the HGTV series, as was revealed in a sneak peek that was shown at the conclusion of the episode that aired on Wednesday night.
During an episode of The Flip Off, Christina Haack is reconciling with not just one but two of her former partners.
The fashion designer said that she had selected Ant Anstead, her ex-husband, to serve as the guest judge for the subsequent episode of the HGTV series. The sneak peek was shown at the conclusion of the new hour of the show that aired on Wednesday night.
Christina is in the process of breaking the news to her opponents in the home flipping showdown, who include her first husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather. It is during this conversation that she breaks the news.
“Have you picked the judge yet?” Heather inquires, “My second ex-husband… Anthony Anstead,” before Christina comments with a witty remark.
“What?” The question is posed by Heathers. “Oh my God,” Tarek continues, raising his hands in the air as he makes the statement.
After that, the picture switches to a brief preview of Anstead in his job as judge, and it seems that he is being completely forthright with both of the teams.
While standing with Christina in the home that she is flipping, the television presenter who was born in the United Kingdom communicates to her, “The small details in here are really driving me crazy.”
“Like?” Asks Christina. “Like?”
However, there is a lack of paint in that particular location. While he is pointing out problems with the house, he remarks, “That isn’t finished correctly.”
Later, when Anstead is visiting the home that the El Moussas are flipping, he informs Heather that he strongly disagrees with one of the design decisions that she has made.
“At no point in human existence should anybody put wallpaper on the ceilings,” he says with a laugh.
The teaser then concludes on a suspenseful note as Anstead, who is presently starring in his own home renovation program in the United Kingdom, is ready to give his judgment to both teams.
Initially, I was under the impression that this was about the design and the execution. To be more specific, however, this is not at all about housing,” Anstead explains.
“What’s going on right now?” Before the scenario comes to a close, Tarek is heard whispering to his wife, Christina, while providing him with a side eye.
Regarding the improbable connection that developed between Christina and Anstead, she revealed in a recent interview with Us Weekly that it all took place after she filed for divorce from her husband, Josh Hall, who she had been separated from for the last year.
When Josh and I broke up, I hadn’t really spoken to Ant in years. I hadn’t seen him in years. The whole time that I was with Josh, I would worry about how Hudson’s sports events were approaching, how we were going to have to be on the field together, and how Josh was going to manage it. Christina, who is Anstead’s partner and shares custody of their son Hudson, who is five years old, recounted this.
“[After we split up] I was dropping Hudson off at Ant’s place, and he gave me a huge embrace and said, ‘I’m here for you and I’m so sorry you’re going through this.’ I was so moved by his words. According to what he stated, “I have the impression that Josh is the cause of the issue, which is why I was unable to communicate.” We are now back on the right path.
In the aftermath of a contentious divorce and custody fight, the couple, who had tied the knot in December 2018, found themselves in an unexpected state of reconciliation. In September of 2020, they made the announcement that they were going to separate, and in June of 2021, they formalized their divorce.
Christina is also close with Ant’s girlfriend, Renée Zellweger, whom he has been seeing for the last four years. Christina told Us that she thinks “She’s great.” It’s not like Heather and I, who spend a lot of time together. The situation is different. Even if it’s primarily only on the soccer field or at drop-off, she’s a really pleasant person. She is in love with Hudson, and Hudson is loving her. In addition, she and Ant are happy.
In response to the question of what Tarek and Heather thought about the reconciliation between Christina and Anstead, they shared with People that it first confounded them.
Tarek recounted his shock by saying, “All of a sudden, they’re best friends.” This was his reaction when he saw Anstead and Christina engage on stage.
“[Christina] started following [Ant] on Instagram and we were like, ‘What?'” Heather said in an interview with People on how the experience of seeing Christina and Anstead’s reconciliation “unfold in front of our eyes” was a whirlwind for Tarek and Heather. What is happening on here?’ The situation was exactly the same for us.
“We are so taken aback by the nature of the crisis because we see it unfold on television. We probably sent her a text message asking, “Why are you following Ant?” “What exactly is going on?” she continued.
Fans were given their first indication that Anstead would be joining the program when Christina made a joke about her second husband taking over for her third husband, who had abruptly left the show. When Josh filed for divorce in July, he had planned on becoming Christina’s partner on the competition program. However, he ultimately decided against doing so.
In light of the fact that Christina, who had earlier said that she would not be seeing anybody, is now dating Christopher Larocca, it would seem that this large and mixed family is doing quite great at the moment.
