Arnold Schwarzenegger is helping out the city of Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, January 21, the actor and former governor of California posted on Instagram that he is contributing $1 million to three nonprofits to help with relief efforts. This comes more than two weeks after a series of disastrous wildfires broke out in Los Angeles.

Many of my admirers have asked me how they can assist Los Angeles. I will take the lead. I am donating one million dollars of my own money, divided among @lafdfoundation, @cafirefound, and @habitatla. In the description for his photo, which included a t-shirt with his image and the tagline “L.A. Strong,” Schwarzenegger, who is 77 years old, stated, “I don’t like when companies or rich people ask their fans to make their donations for them.”

“I know that you want to assist, but. I asked my team to create a shirt. “The organizations will receive all of the profits,” wrote the actor from the Terminator. “The shirt may look familiar because it is based on a classic from Los Angeles. It is a knock-off version of me that they sell to tourists on the Venice boardwalk, but I am able to use my image.” You may find it by following the link in my bio.

On Tuesday, January 7, several wildfires broke out in Los Angeles. Since then, tens of thousands of inhabitants, including celebrities such as Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Joshua Jackson, Anna Faris, Ricki Lake, and Cary Elwes, have been forced to leave their homes. So far, thousands of buildings have been impacted by what is regarded to be the most devastating wildfire in the city’s history. At least 27 people have passed away, according to the announcement made by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner on Thursday, January 16.

According to Cal Fire, a new fire called the Hughes Fire started at about 10:53 a.m. local time on Wednesday, January 22. The fire has spread to 3,407 acres and is now 0% containment. At the same time, the Eaton Fire is 91% controlled, and the Palisades Fire is assessed to be 68% contained.

Schwarzenegger is familiar with charitable actions. In November, he volunteered at a juvenile facility in East Los Angeles on Thanksgiving Day and uploaded a video of himself talking to Fox 11, a local news channel.

In the news broadcast, he said, “Giving back is, to me, everything.” The report also mentioned that Schwarzenegger has been giving turkeys to the juvenile center for almost thirty years.
