Cosmetic treatments known as limb lengthening procedures include extending the length of the arms or legs of the patient. It is a lengthy and strenuous procedure that is carried out in order for the skin, muscles, nerves, bones, and other connective tissues that surround the treated region to gradually grow in length. From the time of surgery until the patient is fully recovered, the lengthening of a limb typically takes between nine and twelve months.

According to Cleveland Clinic, the surgery, which is typically conducted around the humerus (upper arm bone), radius (forearm bone), tibia (shin bone), and femur (thigh bone), was initially created to correct differences in the length of arms and legs and certain conditions that cause bone growth irregularities or shorter bone lengths, like cerebral palsy, benign growth tumors, skeletal dysplasia, growth plate fractures, and osteomyelitis, among others.

Nonetheless, over the course of the last several years, limb lengthening has developed into a much sought after aesthetic operation among males. It’s not hard to guess why more and more guys are interested in having their legs lengthened: the vast majority of them have low self-esteem as a result of years of hearing jokes about how short men are, and some of them have a smaller dating pool to choose from because of their height. Dr. Shahab Mahboubian, a surgeon at the Height Lengthening Institute in Burbank, California, said in an interview that he has performed the treatment on men of varying ages. He noted that the results were positive in all of the cases.

“Because it just doesn’t stop happening, I’ve had men in their 60s and 65s come to me to undergo the procedure,” the doctor said. “The’short’ jokes keep going on, and they feel as though they are being put down,” he added.

Dynzell Sigers, a native of Georgia who was 27 years old when he had limb-lengthening surgery in December 2022, chronicled his experience on the social media platforms TikTok and Instagram. Keep reading to find out why Sigers went from being 5 feet and five inches tall to becoming 6 feet and zero inches tall.

Sigers was overjoyed with his newfound stature after he had a limb-lengthening procedure that cost him an astounding $81,000 and made him six inches taller. After undergoing the procedure in December 2022, the former Navy medic started documenting his rehabilitation progress on social media.

The man from Georgia revealed his motivation in an interview with NeedToKnowUK, where he discussed his decision to go through with the arduous treatment. Siger said that he has struggled with challenges touching on body image and low self-esteem ever since he was a little child.

“I was always a very timid and reserved child, and I was always afraid to be myself out of fear of being judged or unaccepted,” he added. “I was always scared to be myself out of fear of being judged or unaccepted.” “And when I was in my teenage years, there was one time when I was rejected by a girl I had a huge crush on. Although she found me attractive, her reasoning for the rejection was that I was too short and too young for her.”

Due to the one-time experience, Siger became acutely aware of his height, which negatively impacted his self-assurance when approaching women.

“I clung to that and always considered my height before approaching women, which often caused me to miss out on opportunities,” he recounted. “I missed out on opportunities because I missed out on opportunities because I missed out on women.” “Another significant thing that stood out to me was that despite the fact that I enjoyed playing sports very much and that I was very good at them, I never joined any of my school teams due to the fact that I was on the shorter side,”

The former Navy medic spent a lot of time and effort looking for a way to increase his height without any success. It wasn’t until he discovered limb lengthening surgery that he was finally able to find a practical answer to his problem. Before Signer was able to reach his goal height, he was forced to endure months of physical therapy and undergo a total of six surgical procedures. However, as he said in the end, it was well worth it for him in the long run:

“I really do feel like a different person, and it’s almost as if I’ve been given a second chance at life.”
