A former child star is one of the victims who perished in the enormous wildfires that occurred in Los Angeles. His mother has said that she was unable to rescue him in time when the flames broke out.
In a heartfelt statement on social media, Rory Callum Sykes’ mother Shelley Sykes said that her son, Rory Callum Sykes, who had been in the British television program “Kiddy Kapers” in the 1990s, had passed away on Wednesday at the property that his family owned in Malibu.
According to his mother, the British-born Australian actor, who was born blind and suffered from cerebral palsy, had his own house on the family’s 17-acre Mount Malibu TV Studio estate. Unfortunately, the cabin was destroyed in the subsequent fire.

Shelley claims that she attempted to extinguish the cinders that were on his roof by using a hose, but she was unable since the water supply had been turned off. She also states that “50 courageous fire fighters had no water all day!”
It was impossible for any mother to abandon her child when he pleaded, “Mum, leave me.” The local Australian news site 10 News said that Shelley had fractured her arm, and as a result, she was unable to lift or transport the individual in question. “When I returned, the fire department had brought me back, and his cottage had been completely destroyed by fire.”
