It has been determined by the medical examiner for Los Angeles County that Ryan Kobayashi, the father of Hannah Kobayashi, who has been reported missing from Hawaii, committed suicide. He was 58 years old.
According to the report received from the medical examiner, which was obtained by PEOPLE, the cause of his loss was numerous blunt force traumatic injuries from blunt force. The place of his loss was described as a parking lot in the report.
On Sunday, November 24, two weeks after Hannah went missing, Ryan, who had come to Los Angeles to hunt for his daughter, was found passed in a parking lot close to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), according to the reported information provided by the authorities.
In a prior statement to PEOPLE, a spokesperson said that law police was sent to the location because of “an apparent suicide.”
On Monday, November 25, Hannah’s aunt and Ryan’s former sister-in-law said that the family suspected that Ryan was experiencing a mental health emergency. This statement was made in an interview with PEOPLE.
“We have been searching without stopping,” said Larie Pidgeon, who is 45 years old. “I think it just became so overwhelming for him driving the streets, going to Skid Row and seeing where his daughter could possibly have ended up.”
In addition, she said that the family wished to dispel any accusations that he had anything to do with the loss of his daughter and that they did not feel that he was enticed to his loss.
Emi Ko, Ryan’s niece, stated on a GoFundMe page that was established for Li, Ryan’s fiancée, that “He has been living his absolute worst nightmare, ever since Hannah’s disappearance, and now, with his passing, our family is grappling with unimaginable grief.”
Hannah, who is thirty years old, had departed Maui on November 8 and was originally scheduled to catch a connecting flight to New York City at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), but she was unable to do so due to the fact that she had a lengthy stopover.
Hannah had phoned another aunt, Geordan Montalvo, and informed her that she had missed her trip and was attempting to rebook it, according to her statement.

The family has said that they have verified sightings of Hannah at the airport the following day; nevertheless, they have begun to get communications from her that are alarming around the 11th of November.
According to Pidgeon, Hannah’s last known location was at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on November 11 at around four o’clock local time. There was a documented sighting of Hannah and an unidentified individual getting on the train on that day, but she has not been seen since supposedly departing the train at Pico Station. The family has not provided any more information.
On the occasion of Ryan’s passing, Pidgeon disclosed to PEOPLE that the family would continue their hunt for Hannah. She said, “We are still staying here.” “We’re a family doing the best we can now with two tragedies.”
